Netto Cheap as Chips but Manners Cost Nothing

I've just done some shopping in Netto (not for the first time) and got some great bargains, huge packs of chicken breast and a beef joint reduced hugely :money: and lots of branded things like Marmite cheaper than my normal supermarket but my god, the other customers were sooooooooooo rude!!!
Whilst I was waiting in the queue to be served, at least 3 people barged past me with their baskets without an excuse me or sorry. Then just as I got to the front of the queue and was standing at the packing area, 2 men pushed to the front of the queue with their 2 items and nobody said a word to them. Then as I was still loading my trolley and waiting to pay, a woman and her entire family pushed past me and stood waiting at the loading area at the side of me, glaring at me!! I lost my temper at this point and called her rude and asked her why she hadn't got the decency to wait until I'd finished. She just looked right through me!
I was so annoyed! Admittedly, you could quite easily experience any of this in any other supermarket but I never have, only in Netto! Cheap as chips but the stress factor totally ruined it for me!!!
Sainsbury's or Morrisons for me next time I think!

Aww, sorry you've had an unpleasant experience with the other shoppers
Makes the task of shopping such a drudge when that happens.
Thankfully, it wasn't the staff who were rude, so it's a shame you are thinking of changing your store.
Perhaps a different time of day would bring a less stressful experience?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's worth giving it another go. There were some bad mannered people in, but I'm sure it can't always be like that. (It's fine in the one near me.)
I hope you enjoy your bargains!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Where I live we have two Netto's within driving distance (6miles). They are both new stores and are very clean, but the staff...... they are ignorant and a lot of the customers are a bit rough, but the prices and bargains are good, so you just have to put up with it. Sometimes I go over the top to be nice but it doesn't make much difference. It winds my OH up and he hates going, but I like a bargain, so just go and get on with it.
As you say manners cost nothing, and it makes things more pleasant.0 -
Last time I was at Aldi, the staff were really rude. It wasnt my local one, we'd been to Pets at home and there was an Aldi next door so popped in for a few items, never again
Was ignored by one member of staff, think he may have been managment as he wasnt wearing a uniform, just a badge, then when I was packing my stuff into bags while the checkout girl was scanning them, she rudely told me not to bother packing them as she scanned, but to wait until I'd paid, then pack them over there and pointed to a shelf by the window  OH had my purse and handed her my card, which she scrutinised, then put in the terminal, then handed it to me to put in PIN, asking very abruptly, 'Is this YOUR card?' I said well it came from my purse and has MRS on it so I presume so. By this time OH had steam coming from his ears, hes a shop manager and hates bad manners, especially in shops. I wont be using this particular Aldi again, but the girls in my local one are a lot nicer, serves me right for not staying faithfull to them :rotfl:
I always find the staff in my local Asda and Savacentre polite and helpful too, cant fault them.

IS there an afternoon after you've been drinking in the morning?

I too only use Aldi when I need to go to Pets at Home nextdoor. I do have to try to be very thick skinned and ignore all the very rough and rude parents and children.
I always pack my bags as I go too - they moan but I carry on. They can't stop serving me half way - or can they? hahaLove living in a village in the country side0 -
Thanks everyone - it's nice to know its not just me!
I always try to treat others as I'd like to be treated but maybe if I'm brave enough to go back, I'll have to become like one of them!!
To be fair, I got loads of bargains. Nobody seemed to bother with the reduced stuff (or they didn't see it!) but I had 2 huge packs of chicken filletts for £1.45 each and a massive piece of beef for £3.08! Its not of the fatty kind either - it looks really nice. As there are only 2 of us, any idea's for using it all up? OH hates cold beef sandwiches as he says they are either hard or chewyMaybe it's my cooking! :rotfl:
Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!0 -
Mince your cold beef up with a bit of chopped onion, any left over veg and gravy and make into yummy pies0

You could also have a hot beef dip. My kids love them the day after we've had roast beef for dinner. Yummy.
