Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sat 6th March. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

morning all
Where is everyone:eek:
Been up since silly o clock as usual with DS. Cooking fried eggs for him.....just the whites( he calls these the clouds......doesnt like the sun...ie the yolks:rotfl:)
Not been on all week as been busy between migraines:(
Today DS has his music lesson this morning then I am going to be tidying up and may do some baking if I have time.
DS still obssessed with his digital radio. He listens to Galaxy:p...awful music as far as I am concerned. He loves a DJ on there called James Barr and talks about him all the time. I have even had to phone up and get him to mention DS on air. He pretends to be a DJ presenting his show;).
Bitsy great news about DS:T. DS couldnt talk at that age so your boy is doing well. You may find his ASD is very mild and he has few problems..with luck;)
Dazi hope DSD is ok. Does she not see the diabetic nurse at hospital? Can they not provide a pump to use?
Lamewolf sorry to hear about the wolf:(. Hope you are ok.
Remmie sorry yesterday was a sad day for you hon:o

Good morning npm and all who follow.

I was unable to get back to sleep after waking at 5.30am so have been browsing and now that the kids are awake I am going to make a start on the bedrooms shortly.

Allthough the toys were sorted in to their respective boxes there is way too many of them and so I am going to sort through and pare them off by at least a half and then ask LO's old child minder if she wants them. They hardly play with any of them except their favourite ones and really they are just gathering dust.

Other plans for today - a small pile of sewing, a small pile of ironing, a couple of washes, change the beds, sort through my pennies and clear off the pile of papers that usually gathers over the week, the usual swish, swipe and hoover and if I can find the lead download some photies on to the pc.

I have a chicken in the SC so will make some tortillas for tea and it's pizza and chips for luch - I will have to clean the frier out first though!

The kiddies will be dog walking with Sis this afernoon so I am going to hunt out a safe place to hide the first of the next lot of xmas presents - a ds lite for DS1 (second hand with 15 games, pristine, £80, bargain - I love Ebay!!)

Gentle hugs to all in need today and I hope you all have a good day.

    Smoky. xxx

I'm up too. Still on first cuppa though, so brain hasn't kicked in yet. My first stop today is the library which doesn't open until 10 so i'm moving very slowly this morning.

Cats and I are watching the birds at the feeders. Weather is okay at present.

I like your son's description of egg whites and yolks.

Morning everyone. Big hugs to those who need them.
Don't know why I woke up at 6am on a Saturday, but I guess I feel asleep early (can't even remember the end of QI on BBC1 last night!), so I must have had my quota.
Still, the sun is up, the birds are twittering outside and the garden tiger has just slunk outside.

Feeling a little rubbish today - really wanted a lie in but DD insists on going and waking DS really early, even though I had specifically told her not to last night :mad::mad:

Wasn't good news with work yesterday, a merger with our sister company means that my job is probably going to be moving down to London. :( Although none of our leaders actually seems to be giving any thought to our head office and only look as far as themselves and the effect it has on them.... They all cleared off out of the office before the announcement was made yesterday, but I bumped into one of them on the way home and it was perfectly clear he hadn't given us (is the support staff) a second thought. Some stern words coming their way on Monday methinks....

Busy day today, need to finish weekly shop, WM is on, bread freshly made in BM. Need to tidy, tidy, tidy today.

    Have a great Saturday,

    MMM.

    Morning all

I also woke stupidly early for a Saturday! Wide awake at 7am. Ah well....

WM is on, it's beautifully sunny here so I think I will pit it to dry ourside for the first time this year :) I need to finish unpacking my case from this week, and put away the laundry that dried whilst I was away.

I'm off to visit my nan today, then lunch with the girls, then tonight I'm going to my friend's house for dinner, so no cooking for me other than toast for breakfast.

Hope you have a fab day all

I was up just after 5, hubby's had his cooked breakfast & is now at work, not his own job, but the school where I work, who didn't give him the job, are now short of someone to do a couple of Saturdays so he's covering them, it's a few extra quid in our pockets, which is sorely needed as his new job forgot to pay him & forgot to pay his expenses float in too, so our savings are almost wiped out now, grrrr.
Today's plans include, changing the beds, loads of washing, going into town to pay hubby's wages in (they finally arrived yesterday), blitzing the kitchen, tidying the living room, sewing, knitting & crochet.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Nice day here again, not so sunny, but no rain :T, have the first load in the wm, will get it out on the line as its nice and breezy today.

OH is at the boot sale and dd still in bed, so all peaceful here, my mum and dads dog came for a sleepover last night, and is laying here looking at me with huge sad eyes because she has not had her morning biscuit :rotfl:, she is a tad overweight, and gets fed once a day here (like little dog) and nothing else in between, I think she would rather be at home :rotfl:

We have my mum and dad and sister and bil coming for tea tonight, I got a unsmoked gamon half price in Mr T yesterday, which I will do in the sc, I will slice that up, we also have nice crusty bread, lots of cheese, olives sun dried toms, normal toms, which I do in olive oil and garlic with balsamic vinegar, My mum is bringing pudding, and sis is bringing wine and beer , should be a nice evening.

My sister gave me a new pair of beautiful curtains yesterday they are from Next so nice ones, they go beautifully in my conservatory, but are too long, I am useless at sewing, does anyone have any ideas where I could get them taken up ??

Jayward, hope you are ok hun xx

    Have good days all xx

well i too seem to have woken up far too early for a weekend. i was hoping for a lie in! DS got him self up at 6.30 and has been watching tv, so time to get dressed and go to the library i think! had text fro OH to say he won;t bebeack till after 11pm tonight! so i'm gonna go out with the girls tonight for a couple of drinks seen as DS is at his grandparents for the night!
the weather hereis horrible and wet, so no outdoor things for me today. will bake and then iron once we've been to the library.
Hop every one has a lovely saturday, and enjoys the weekend!

    Morning All,

Up early with DGS this morning. It's looking like the split with my DD and SIL is permanent which is a real shame. She will stay with us until she finds a new place which will be hard on her own and she is very sad:(

I have told her she can stay as long as she needs but I think she was really hoping SIL would come to his senses. Life's hard sometimes but she has a big family around her and we will all support her and she will get over it. All she wants to do is cry at the minute:(

Need to get the house cleaned this morning and finish the washing. Had a text from DS3 last night saying he had arrived safely so hope he will be ok but still will worry until he comes back on Sunday.

Also need to do some cooking and baking as we are low on everything. Its been such a hectic week. DH will be in the garden today finishing our new planters and we need to get on and sew the seeds. We are hoping to grow loads of fruit and veg this year

Bright and sunny today so feels very springlike.

    Have a good day everybody J x
