And now they want to weigh my rubbish?

Are we going raving bonkers?

Surely to do that they would have to break into your back garden (unless you are one of those naughty people who leave their bin out in the street for days on end).
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

I foresee lots of bonfires in the back garden to claim any discount for not throwing rubbish in the bin, not to mention fly tipping.

I don't think we have microchips on our bins...............yet:D

As to breaking in the back garden, you have to put them at the front of the property sometime...most people do it the night before as they come so early

If you have had to buy these bins in the first place, then for them to to attach said chip is vandalism?

No, because even though you have to pay for the bin, you don't own it! It remains the property of the local authority.

We already pay tax for rubbish collection, and this is just a way to put more charges on us i think.

I can just imagine what would happen if I accidentally put our own black bin out by mistake. I can imagine sirens going off on the truck, orange flashing lights, CEO's descending on us, blues and two's coming to take me away, MIL committing ritual suicide because of the shame.(There's always some good in the worst scenario)

I think a laws to stop supermarkets and manufacturers to pay for all the extra they put on packaging is a good idea, that way they can pay for their own waste instead of us having to bring it home, unpack our items and then dump the manufacturers waste in our bins, costing us money.

I see no good coming from this silly idea of the govornments in the future except maybe for recycling issues, soon the UK will be like Mumbai slums, people going rag picking in fly tips that others dump in the streets instead of putting it in their bins.

Some people will just flytip to save money, or dump it in their neighbours bins. I keep my bins well off the road at the side of my house, but I can't get them round the back due to steps. I can't see any of my neighbours putting their rubbish in my bin - but just saying that it's not possible for everyone to get their bins round the back of their house.
