Can you read what product they are for and how many points they are worth?

If so, then buy the product and offer the till-spit. The SA won't be able to scan it but ask for a Supervisor and - if it is readable - they should agree that you are entitled to the points. They CAN be added manually at a till (a Manager on a till once did so for me when a bonus points coupon didn't scan) but most SA's can't do it.

If the Supervisor can't do it manually but agrees you've bought the right products they should suggest you go to the CS desk with it to get the points added manually. Just make sure it's a different/friendlier staff member on the desk that day, than the person you asked last time.

If knocked back at this final hurdle then explain that you ONLY bought the product for the points (some staff don't seem to grasp this fact!) and get a refund before you even leave the store.

If it were me I would try, if you can make out the details. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

No unfort I cant read them fully. I know from ebay though that 1 is for 100 pts if I buy 3 packs of ice cream sticks/bars/lollies and I know the bar code. I cant see the other one on ebay though. Think its for fresh berries - assuming though its for 75 pts from partial numbers on bar code, dont know how much I would need to spend though prob only £1. Do you think its worth emailing Tesco?

Maybe email them if you have only cleanly-earned points on your card. But to show them the problem I think you would have to scan & attach copy of the till-spits and provide your cc number to (hopefully) get any points added as a goodwill gesture.

If you have a very very high points balance and/or any dodgy points earned (e.g. codes used which were not issued to you, wrong products bought for baby club points or clothing not bought when using clothing till-spits) then maybe it's best not to alert them to your account. :o

If you email, say that you want to buy the items but were told you can't get the points, can they help by adding the points manually which the store wasn't able to do from the info on the bonus points slips.

Whatever you do, DON'T call them tillspits, even instore, that's a forum term not a Tesco one!

Refund & Retain. It was an old policy that if you were charged more than the price on the shelf/item, Tesco would refund the price you paid and let you retain the item. They don't do this anymore.

That's right, but for the benefit of any newbies just reading these latest posts, the current policy is to give you Double the Difference, when overcharged in any Tesco store.

It's usually not as good now because we're not very likely to get free xbox360's any more  - but it can be as good as R&R on a low value item where the difference is at least half the value (e.g. when a BOGOF offer doesn't work).

DTD works well on items that have been reduced but get scanned at full price.

In among some other reduced meat items last night, I bought Finest West Country Lamb Legs steaks reduced from £6.28 to £2.20, but they went though at at full price.

Tonight I went to CS with the label from the steaks, plus my receipt, where the lovely CS lady kindly explained that I had done well out of their error, as I was entitled to dtd - £8.16. I assumed my best innocent expression and pleased but surprised tone of voice ;)
Lamb for free and £1.88 profit :D :T
