I found that The Rough Guide to Pregnancy and Birth , by Kaz Cooke, was hilarious and informative. It had me crying with laughter at so many points! The quiz on the first page - the 'What is Inducement?' mulitple choice question left me in stitches for days I think ...

And another vote for Your Pregnancy Bible, all the information you could possibly need and more.

For a good read, I really liked the Jools Oliver book as well.

The DK books are always good. Think it's called something like "Pregnancy Questions and Answers"

another vote for the "what to expect" series - have you asked for any on freecycle/freegle. I gave all of mine away to someone who asked nicely on it.

The most amazing book for preparing yourself for the actual birth is childbirth without fear

It helped me to understand what causes pain during labour and how to avoid it. The reviews on amazon speak for themself!

My vote is also for 'What to expect when you're expecting'. it's great. I also have the miriam stoppard one and a zita west one that i picked up 2nd hand but they're not as good.

websites are good but there's nothing like a book...in my opinion! each saturday morning I treat myself to reading the next bit about the baby's development :)

  • Definitely what to expect when you are expecting, also go for the What to Expect in the first year as well, very helpful when you come home with your little bundle.

What to expect when you're expecting!

There is also one that used to be given away with the freebie bounty type packs which is written in the form of a diary it's quite funny as well as having useful info in but I can't remember what it's called maybe someone else here will.

Babycentre .co.uk is also a great website.
