There are some cheapo socks in Lidl this week. £1.99 for 3 pairs of soft non-slip slipper sox. Keep your feet warm and it's easier to stay warm - and wear a hat.
Looking for the socks, it's Winter Warmer week at Lidl starting tomorrow: http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/offerdate.htm?offerdate=14768 lots of hideously unfashionable long johns
These are the socks, they've got them out in our store already: http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/index_14785.htm0 -
Maybe I should get some non slip socks then....wouldn't fall down the stairs!:rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I've tried those slipper socks and hate them, they fall down, twist and IMO still slip on carpet. I have upstairs slippers and downstairs ones, so that I can go up or down stairs bare foot. I won't come down our staircase with socks on either.:o
Malcolm, we have a problem with the fireplace now :mad: loads of wood but not yet usable. An excellent boiler man has coaxed our boiler back into life, and we have got most of the rads working for when we really are desperate. The bonus of a functioning boiler is properly hot bath water :T:T. A hot bath is often the best solution.0 -

LOL. I have foot warmers: its the main job of domestic animals
It all feels brighter this morning. Its mainly that I got caught out in not enough clothes, fooled by the daytime mildness and then as the evening drew in and we were still out doors I didn't tart re-layering up.
Today is a housework day, shame as the weather is so nice. Had I been better organised it would have been a day to go to my parents to start dividing clumps of stuff for here.
Cat, who we shall call Duck, this morning had used his litter tray: hurrah! Vet suggested I keep him here today and try and get him a little more relaxed if possible. I don't think its going to make a difference to handling him for a check up, but I think the vet is right, it would be good to give him some time to try and relax. I'm leaving him with radio four.0 -
Just had a call from eldest son.....I have an awards ceremony to go to!
He has been nominated for the Best achievement and the Best Effort (two seperate awards) in both R.E and resistant materials for year 11.
Chuffed is an understatement to how I feel right now.We made it! Didn't have awards ceremonies when I was at school. I do remember Bomb Scares though - and evacuating several times. All that old 1970s IRA stuff.0

We had flood evacuations several times...my clearest memory is of being in the playground and watching the water bubbling over the river bank and start shooting through the railings and down into the playground, think that was the fastest I ran as a child.
We had to evacuate to the local high school which was up a huge hill (and is the one my two younger sons go to)...and we had to blooming walk it!
No award ceremonies though.....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. Congrats Sue - may be he could apply some of the resistant materials to the bottom of your slippers?!
When I was at school for some reason it was called woodwork and metalwork but I guess 'resistant materials' is progress for you.Just had a call from eldest son.....I have an awards ceremony to go to!

Hehe Michaels....eldest son calls it woodwork, the school call it RM as you use more than just wood or metal.
