I failed too. 14/24 in a few minutes.
I think most native British people would.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Just discovered I did somehing right when pregnant: :)

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/women_shealth/8052856/Your-life-is-decided-in-the-womb.html

New studies show that pregnant women who eat chocolate every day during pregnancy have babies who show less fear and smile and laugh more often at six months of age.

Another study finds that women who eat five or more servings of chocolate each week during their third trimester have a 40 per cent lower risk of developing the dangerous high blood pressure condition known as pre-eclampsia.

    So did I. :)

I also found pregnancy (need calcium for baby's developing bones) an excellent excuse for eating lots of ice cream.

    Happy birthday misskool!

Hope you enjoy the many cakes!

I did try to celebrate your birthday by passing the UK citizenship test, but sadly failed dismally (13). The books that help cram for these tests are very popular at the library. I often have a peek and am amazed at how blooming hard (and sometimes irrelevant) the questions are.

I hope santa brings me a fencing contractor for christmas.

I'd send you mine, but I think the commute might take up rather a lot of his day. :)

    I failed....

1st time was 11/24 in 3 minutes something or other
2nd time was 14/24 in a similar time

And then refusing to be beaten....

Last time was 23/24 (I had a look to see where I had gone wrong before, a short term photographic memory is handy here) in 1 min 28 seconds.

Then I was satisfied with myself.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Yup. Another failure. 16/24.

Wonder why they think it is necessary to know the ethnic proportions of immigrants to the UK in the 1980s in order to be a good citizen?

How does this knowledge make you a better citizen?

Or the speed limit on a single carriageway - handy if you're going to drive - but that's what a driving test is for. Nothing to say you need to be able to drive to be a citizen.

    How very, very strange.

That said, I remember whebn my eldest brother applied for US citizenship, he had to learn loads of random stuff, including, IIRC, the names of all the US Presidents etc. Far more than most existing Americans could tell you. I know he corrected the examiner on some points...

The most pointless question IMO was the one about when women got the right to divorce their husbands. The right answer and the three possible wrong answers were all in the 19th century. Why on earth would anyone (other than historians etc) need to know exactly when during the 19th century this happened???
