    I've won another $50 for my writing, that's $100 this week :)

This one, another shameful piece of fluffy nothing was done by: spotting an advert in the paper, deciding to write about it, loading up their website, skimming through for a few minutes .... then brain dumping stuff onto the page.

    Genius.

I've been thinking about enrolling on a copywriting course. I think writing really should be my thing. I just feel such a fraud when I copywrite.... but I think if I learnt how to apply some rules I'd actually be able to pull it off.

The art of persuasion ... hard as it bangs against my inner morality. But it makes muneh!

Quite often, when I'm Googling, I land on a page of the kind that you write. I often wonder, "Did PN do this one?"

I probably only know if it's that kind of page when I have a good grasp of the subject.

I'm sure you could copy write; your 'enthusiastic' style when giving advice on the other channel is always reassuring, though I like your humour best. :)

Aww, thank you. That's given me a warm glow of encouragement :)

I wonder if my style is often a little 'list based', dry and detached.
As for the humour, it's an acquired taste :)

For a change of mood, I thought I'd post a link to my favourite song of the moment. Its the best anthem I've heard about what its like to grow up working class in the UK in ages and has a really good hook too. I can't believe this band is in the download charts yet haven't been signed yet:

Does anyone know where the video was shot?

The Market is Roman Road because it says so.

The recreation ground for skate boarding and glue sniffing ?

([STRIKE]I think it may be Goodmayes[/STRIKE]) No I've checked on "street view" and I don't think it is - must be lots of parks, with a skate park, backing onto a factory .

For those outside the M25 and thinking "Fools & Horses" both locations are "North of the River" territory.

I notice that some of this talented "angry" music was recorded live at this venue:
    http://www.93feeteast.co.uk/location/

This has got to be the front line of the integration of the Muslim and original Eastend communities (not to mention the rich and educated as it is along side the City and on its way to Canary Wharf).
If the young of all three can manage to rub along together in the recession, there should be some hope going forwards.

Interesting song. Wonder whether English 'pride' worries potential signers?

Haven't been on much - absolutely snowed under with moving/start of school year stuff. Am feeling v overwhelmed - anyone with any speedy, pithy and deeply effective time management tips/organisation tips very, very much appreciated. :)

They are from Essex, Braintree I think, but don't know if it was shot there.

I like the way it captures white, working class angst without a whiff of racism. Also any song that can get the 7/7 bombing and semolina into the same set of lyrics deserves a mention.

Well I saw something which really shocked me this morning....a young baby (maybe around 7 months ish) left alone in an unlocked car, with windows open, on a main road with busy pathways while the mother went to the shop.

At first, I thought the mum may have been in the bakery which was right by the car so she could keep an eye but no-one in there, so the only other conclusion was she was in the Co-op, where she would not have been able to see the car at all (covered windows and round the corner).

I went to the Co-op and then on into the bakery and still no sign of the mum, so I sat and waited to keep an eye to make sure no harm came to the baby and eventually, after I had been there around 10 minutes (no idea how long he had been there before I arrived), the mum finally came out of the Co-op, into the bakery and then finally, back to her car.

Anything could have happened, every door was unlocked, all the windows open and that child could have been taken in a matter of seconds and been off miles away before the mum came out of the shop.

    I was gobsmacked!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Everyone gets overwhelmed at the start of the school year. DS texts today to say as he didn't take a coat I will need to collect him from the coach stop. I text back that 16 year olds can cope with rain, he texts to say that they can, but his new suit can't :( Don't know where his coat is, or if it fits over suit.)

What is it with exam remarking? It seems that any exam where your mark shows that you were near the next grade up should be remarked. At a cost that is mainly, but not totally, refunded if the grade changes. I don't know if this is money grabbing by the exam boards (ie mark shoddily, know that a small percentage will be wrong and rake it in on remark fees) or pampering to parents (so, so disappointed with little darlings result; do, do get it remarked to see if he can get the * he so deserves). I can understand remarking for A levels where a uni place may depend on the result, but for GCSEs???
speedy, pithy and deeply effective time management tips/organisation tips

    1. delegate.
    2. unpacking - leave a box out, anything not claimed by the weekend gets binned/ charitied.

To be honest, I'd be reporting this to social services Sue,
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.
