They are in now, we had a shower of rain, and they aren't ken on that. They have a much belived bed that I decided to pack today. My plan is that they'll be a bit grumpy for the next few weeks and be overwhelmed with joy at seeing the bed again. They aren't grumpy cats, they are very easy going, and gregarious, but they love it here, its always been there favourite pace, even when we used to just weekend here. They'll like the other place too eventually, but I'm not going to either pander too nor dismiss their feelings about the thing.
Interesting about the gameboy. DH has other game stuff that might be worth checking on eby. No one here has kids that might want a dvd of the Bridge of Terabitha have they? Or the film of the Day after tomorrow?0 -
Sorry to interrupt - just wanted to post the song I've got going round in my head so that it can go round in other people's heads too.
Great summer music, loving the lyrics:

Listened to that 5 times now, about to be the 6th... Driving OH round the bend...

Was just telling DD2 that I met them in Copenhagen. Happy memories...0 -
ebay is good - we've bought various off there for DDs - or freecycle might turn up trumps.
I have been doing this for the past few days.....but how man hour intensive is it???
OK, fair do's on Ebay.....you really want to be sure that the 200 yr old chest made of solid red Walnut (with dove tail joints) that is almost perfect .....is double perfect when you could get it for...err 50 quid....like Ikea standard.
My novice go at Freegle today has thrown up a whole new world.
Will write about it later as got to do dinner now....but thye fake e-mails? No-one told me about those.0 -
went to brighton marina car boot today and it was full. packed full of sellers and packed full of buyers.0

Damn I read that as packed full of sailors, which would have been far more fun and somehow very appropriate for the location.0

How DARE you! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Chatting to LIR about horse training.
Don't tell WS but she (and others here) has inspired me to do P/T night school writing course.
I do wonder how much her posts are valued at as she get's serious wedge for her writing.:)
Your writing is already amongst the most readable on here. I'm sure you'll be well suited to the course.
Cooo-eee, wageslave. Please enlighten me on how to make serious wedge...:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I have seen an absolutely perfect job.....16 hrs a week at the high school eldest goes to (but will have very few courses at from September for his A levels), school office receptionist.
My qualifications tick the box, the hours are not too excessive which means I should be able to work the appointments around work time and the money, although not the earth, is better than nothing!
And a very big plus, it is only a 5 minute drive (on a good day) from home and closer to the school that the youngest two go to, so if there are problems, I can get there pretty quick.
Now, do I take my current slight lull time with appointments as maybe a positive step forward and go for it?
Don't know why I am asking, I am going for it anyway....
The best part about this whole post sue, is the last bit in bold.
I love the fact that you've thought "sod it, I'll do it anyway!". I love the fact that you've the confidence in you to do it. I love the fact that you want it.
I'm sure you'll get it, & be an asset to them...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

OMG...You should have popped up for a coffee......I was looking at you from my patio (the very unsafe one)...except I just gave the hardwood patio furniture away :rotfl::rotfl:...and you could have checked out the Brother Mark 2 industrial sewing machine I am trying freecycle,.....but it didn't seem to post.
Snag is, it's my back up machine..works fine but a bit noisy and I haven't used it for 3 years...so sat in the garage. A bit of surface rust on bobbin winder but it's solid. Made in Japan, they last forever.
There is a local industrial sewing machine man who services and gives 'lessons'. An ex memebr of staff used him...amazing guy.
Industrial machines are not pretty though and can't be packed away...but they can demolish a pair of curtains in seconds as so fast.0 -

OMG, I was dribbling at a treadle electric sewing machine at the boot sale too. it was £25.
I'm so tempted to say I want it but I only want it to sew straight lines and to learn how to sew curtains. I'm not going to do anything fancy.
Went elderflower picking round devil's dyke too and have elderflower cordial on the go now. Elderflower fizz to start in a day or two as we ran out of lemons :rotfl:0
