It's probably the most valuable thing we own
A lot of very rare import 12'' dance stuff from early 80's. My brother is a working mucsician/writer/DJ so also has stacks and stacks of vinyl. He give s a lot of white labels to my son....who also mucks about on decks.
One of my brothers best tunes (from 2 decades back) had samples from Giorgio Morrione and my old Midnight Express album.....which he borrowed and still hasn't given it back to me :rotfl:
Actually, I came across one of his old songs by accident recently and the intro had my son aged 4 on it chatting. My sis did another intro and I drew (with pen and paper) one of his early album covers as he couldn't afford to get anyone to do it.
People will regularly be amazed at the value of vinyl, & also books.
I have vinyl at home that I've paid well into 3 figures for (more than I'd care to admit, definitely not MSE!:o)
I've also seen a book I'd love to read (out of print) that is now £750:eek:. I have nowhere near that kinda cash at the mo, but am still sorely tempted, despite the price.:oIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
to comfort LJ...the cds I hung in the trees were mainly ones that come with computers...with words like racing car, football, and er.....MS works...writtien on them ...(I don't have works on this and now curse that one, but I thin it had had its three installations that are allowed). Some are things like my thesis...who needs that? and old pieces of work. Others are the terrible films tht come free n the sunday papers.0

OOOOOoooo! Intruigue...:D
If I remember, I will (I am reknown for being a forgetful so and so!)
I'm not precious about my car - it is a means of transport.
Had a strange conversation the other day with a friend asking why men regularly have their photo taken of them & their car. I was unable to answer, but it is an oddity! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I think I'm a music snob unfortunately. But I'm passionate about it.
I'm having a couple of days off (in a sense). I went to see American: The Bill Hicks Movie the other day. It reminded me (I didn't need reminding) of how brilliant and funny he was. Pure, pure, pure genius the fella! Still sadly missed. I've pulled out my Bill Hicks cd's. I look a right idiot walking to work giggling & bursting into what appears to be spontaneous laughter in the street!:o:D
LJ, I doff my metaphorical hat to you, or at least I would if I had one,yes I know thats the meaning of meta...oh never mind. I must have read "Love All The People" 3 times! the man was a genius, the voice of reason!
I wish he was still around, what a sad loss. The world needs more like him, but would they listen/understand? hmmm...
As for vinyl, I love vinyl! am just beginning to start collecting more of it, for the artwork on the cover/sleeve as much as the music itself sometimes. But then there's also the romance of placing that stylus in the groove and tempting your OH into a wee smooch...:)
Mind you, I also still buy CD's and books, i.e i like physical product, couldnt be doing with downloads, am I a Luddite?"If you are going through Hell, keep going" - Winston Churchill0 -
Another way to answer Wageslave (dear I'm sorry I'm not communicating well tonight, because still trying to think about this poisonous pen letter)
The reason I use positive or reward based training is because I want the hrse to want to be with me. I like that with immediate positive reward based training (like clicker, though I am not excellent at clicker, some of he best training I've seen includes clicker) is very clear two way communication. If the horse wants to be with you, is free to make mistakes without retribution, and can work by trial and error I find they strive for the right answer....they learn to learn, and get the right answer increasingly quickly.
Vitally, I believe it to be better for us too.0 -

Do you have somewhre she can run with other horses? Her soul being content will..eventually...make things easier for you. In the short term you'll curse me, but it is the single easiest and most important thing you can do to keep a herd animal happy.
I love mares the best. A stallion will play, is fun, geldings...are dear but not for me. I'd choose a goo mare whenever I could.
sheer will, I know exactly what you mean, will give you a biddable horse..eventually. Good discipline tempered with outwitting her and developing each others sense of humour will more likely, especially with a mare, make a better relationship and her life better, and give you, eventually a horse you can trust, and who will trust, not fear you.
Napping....easier to resolve than many think....(and at least you know she'll rein back well.
tell me what you want to do with her..that will help....I'm not really sure what you want from her...keep or sell. You're little, 14h is plenty big enough for you isn;t it? Why do your need a teen?
I can recommend books or dvds....or even possibly some trainers near you.
Shie is easily 15 hands (I think) but she measures 14.2.
I dont know what I want to do with her LIR. Auld habits die hard, inevitably you will judge me here, I judge myself.
I am what I came from.
I wrapped her head to box her, which is no big thing. At the other end she came out rearing and I automatically punched her between the eyes. I could type now that we are both victims, it wouldn't be true, I can reason.
I dont know how else to respond.
She is running alone, I can buy a donkey if need be.
LIR she can clear anything. It may be me and the years since I actually made the effort but this horse will face anything.
My Da would have loved her.
I dont know what to do next.
Just let her be or turn her into the ultimate 3 day eventer for daddys 14 yr old.
I could do itRetail is the only therapy that works0 -

I have just realised...OH did that years ago too. :rotfl: The nicest car we ever owned was mine and there isn't one pic of it anywhere.0
