LIR, can I ask your advice about my so called gambling win......

You put a measuring stick near her and she comes in just under 14.2. But she corries down, I don't know the english word, cowers I suppose.

At some point, the point where she grew too big, they have dropped a hot iron on her, you can see the scarring to her withers.

Anyways her size is not important.

When you can catch her (and that is an adventure in itself). I may need boxes built. She is a delight to ride, half mad, goes backwards most of the time. Lets disregard that.

    She can jump for fun.

She can can clear anything and I mean anything.

I bully her into submission. Sheer will, I imagine you know what I mean. I can make her do.

I can keep her, let her run and now and again run her down but it is a waste of a bliddy good horse. Or, and I am really reluctant to do this, I can batter what is left of her not inconsiderable spirit out of her and turn her into......... well she wont ever be nicely behaved but I can turn her into a 14.2 (and she will always be that now) which the right nasty minded teenager will win everything on.

I am tempted to just let her be.

    Advice please.

How old is she? (More important and the cause of much mirth between me and the gypsy who used to get me to ride for him...when I refused to jum anything whose teeth told me not to.) It does matter.

Do you have somewhre she can run with other horses? Her soul being content will..eventually...make things easier for you. In the short term you'll curse me, but it is the single easiest and most important thing you can do to keep a herd animal happy.

I love mares the best. A stallion will play, is fun, geldings...are dear but not for me. I'd choose a goo mare whenever I could.

sheer will, I know exactly what you mean, will give you a biddable horse..eventually. Good discipline tempered with outwitting her and developing each others sense of humour will more likely, especially with a mare, make a better relationship and her life better, and give you, eventually a horse you can trust, and who will trust, not fear you.

Napping....easier to resolve than many think....(and at least you know she'll rein back well.

tell me what you want to do with her..that will help....I'm not really sure what you want from her...keep or sell. You're little ;), 14h is plenty big enough for you isn;t it? Why do your need a teen? :)
I can recommend books or dvds....or even possibly some trainers near you.

Not for definite. I'm aiming to firm up the itinery over the next 5 days (inbetween work, & the world cup naturally).

North wales/canaerfon & surrounding areas appears to be one place.

    Eastbourne & battle is another.

    Longleat is a possibility.

Hadrians wall is a significant possibility.

Pastures New put up a map around wookey hole/cheedar gorge which looks fun so is quite likely too.

I want a seaside place, but can't settle on where to go seaside-y...

Will probably do a few local(ish) days too (in the west midlands/shropshire areas)

If you decide to do Hadrians Wall, let me know. If I can get time off and if it is OK with you (obviously) we could meet and walk together for a little while.

It is too hot for the boots. but I have some fabulous sandals:)

Never been. Have enjoyed west midlands safari park.

A mate wants to go there (having watch too much tv!;)). Am I right in thinking it is huge? Too big to do the lot in a day?

From what you say foundinrates would recommend it? Any particular bits? Or just the whole experience?:)

    VINYL!!!!

I think I'm a music snob unfortunately. But I'm passionate about it.

I'm having a couple of days off (in a sense). I went to see American: The Bill Hicks Movie the other day. It reminded me (I didn't need reminding) of how brilliant and funny he was. Pure, pure, pure genius the fella! Still sadly missed. I've pulled out my Bill Hicks cd's. I look a right idiot walking to work giggling & bursting into what appears to be spontaneous laughter in the street!:o:D

It's probably the most valuable thing we own :o A lot of very rare import 12'' dance stuff from early 80's. My brother is a working mucsician/writer/DJ so also has stacks and stacks of vinyl. He give s a lot of white labels to my son....who also mucks about on decks.

One of my brothers best tunes (from 2 decades back) had samples from Giorgio Morrione and my old Midnight Express album.....which he borrowed and still hasn't given it back to me :rotfl:

Actually, I came across one of his old songs by accident recently and the intro had my son aged 4 on it chatting. My sis did another intro and I drew (with pen and paper) one of his early album covers as he couldn't afford to get anyone to do it.

All of it. Two days would be better, or one long, long one. If you go you need a car really for the safari park. Depending when I could meet you and go through in the truck if you are precious about yours. If not I'll tell you a secret via pm, remind me the just before. I'll need you to swear to secracy though. Its much the same trick as I might use with wageslaves mare.;)

    Dr Who & the daleks?

How about George Foreman & Muhammed Ali (a la Rumble In The Jungle)?

    Napoleon & Wellington?
