Just looking at the stars now. Oh I see a chequered lady and a busted up Land Rover, poor people in flats. Hang on, it`s getting clearer it`s Rupert Be..., no it`s the chequered lady again. Something Scottish going on as well, Gordon? No, hmmm Hamish, no it`s Fergus, that`s it and they have bills, lots of them. Ah a £3.000 toilet seat. What is that? Keeps going through my mind, 3,000, no 700. Yes 700 bills everyy month....

    Oooooooh, I wish I had written that:j

I wish I had even thought it

You need to get in some fairly strong beer from the Co-op.

Yea it`s OK though. Trouble is with this working from home lark I don`t have to be up very early.

The other problem is, with the down turn, my income has really hit a down turn. Just a few years ago i need the lovely Mrs. P to give up work just to help me stay on top of things. Just glad she is back doing her own job. Just had the worst month since I started it up many years back.

Oh dear, do hope things improve. (You could always try your hand writing horoscopes.)

Oh thanks. It`s the real recession not the ones that people argue about on other threads. All this old rubbish about retail sales being down a few per cent. I have lots of customers fighting for survival. Thankfully I have no overheads with this and if the worse comes to the worse I can walk away and just do something. Drive a cab maybe. Have done that in the past when an income was required. Me, to old and and not proud.

I hope you pull through Pobby. Suppose flexibility is the key word. If you can and are willing to turn your hand to most things. DH had to when things were bad in the last recession. Though things have moved on now, he'd always be agreeable to taking what ever work he could if it was necessary.

For sure. Happily we don`t have to earn a bundle. I think PN is a good demonstrator on how to live on very little. With my local now closed there is a good few bob saved there. Funny thing is, I always thought, yes great, retirement will be lovely. Our pensions, not amazing but certainly more than some, would get us through in a comfortable style but this lack of trade and being busy has taught me that I am just like my dear old Dad. Mentally not geared up to just do nothing. So looking into that.

Quite independently, Mrs. P, up for retirement in 2 years has announced that she has no intention of quitting work. Says that 61 is far to young. Btw, boy is she still a stunner. Shows what not smoking, drinking too much and staying fit does for you. Shame about her old man, lol.

We never know what's around the corner. I guess the most important thing to have is good enough health to be able to put thoughts into action. It's something I've been thinking about lately.
