Having now got over my strop of earlier in the week, I will come back with a very red face and a shameful expression and continue posting on this thread again properly.
Dad was up for a check up during the week after his strokes...he is doing well and they have told him he can start driving again, albeit only very short trips initially. My mum also broached the subject of sex, which completely flustered the doctor, apparently they don't get asked the question that often. Upshot of it is they can now 'partake' as long as dad doesn't move his head too much, my mums reply "At our age dear, nothing moves around much!"
Cue one very red faced doctor......
Eldest has now calmed down after his mini breakdown on Wednesday (didn't post it on this thread but did in the disability section) and is pretty much back to his chilled out self but his joints are very bad at the moment which is bringing him down a little. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Excellent race, good result, means that the RBs won't go scampering off to the sunset and will make for a good season. Nice to see something of the old Schumi too.
The RB incident will be one of talking points of the season and it's great to see so many drivers in contention.
I didn't think Hamilton was very please with Button by the look on his face at the end. He half made out that he wasn't expecting it as they were both supposed to be conserving fuel. :undecided0 -
singlesue, though a funny anecdote I think its an important question from your mother, and one that will give a lot of stroke victims and their partners hope and comfort.0

Anyone else watching Child of Our Time? Licked any paper yet? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Egads! I am so glad I missed the whole EV discussion. I abhor it (I bet you would've guessed at that lir!;))
Been spending time gardening. All 23 sprouts are now out. All 12 brocolli plants are out. A fair few tomatoes got repotted, as did most of the cucumbers. I need to move a few courgettes into bigger pots. I need more bigger pots too!
Apparently it'll be nice tomorrow, then a couple of more miserable days, approaching scorching towards the end of the week/weekend...:)
Oh, & I moved the first batch of my lettuce in (yummy) in anticipation of eating it through next week. I planted batch 3 today, so am hoping to have a consistent supply!:DIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Well it's certainly given dad hope! He's been walking around with a huge smile on his face since Thursday.:rotfl:
The next hurdle is his appointment with the vascular surgeon next month, taking place just one week before their 50th wedding anniversary. I am hoping that if they do decide to operate, they will wait until after their anniversary just in case anything goes wrong during the op.
It really is amazing to think of my parents reaching 50 years married, they don't seem old enough, especially when you see others celebrating in the local paper and they are all a fair bit older but mum was 17 and dad 19 when they got married (they met when mum was 15 and dad 17).
They have been through so much in those years, the death of my eldest brother when he was just 6 months old, several miscarriages, a still birth (I would have a 3 year younger brother), dads accident, years of living on the breadline due to that accident and finally, just when they thought they could look forward to a comfortable retirement, dad having a heart attack within a year of retiring.
But they have always had each other and even after all these years, still love each other dearly...even if mum calls dad a cantakerous old sod!We made it!
