I went away to read about cream legbars too. Couldn't find as good a picture for them, but lots of pics of blue and green eggs. Very odd. Do your hens lay green eggs? I need to get my head back to more suburban things, so off to bed shortly for a quick meet with my new favourite book.

I have mixture, the cream legbars lay blue/green eggs, yes. But not very regularly. They are reallypopular birds ATM, but quite fidgety birds imo. The ones one can buy in the supermarker are a newer breed or hybrid ..cotswold legbarrs. Probably better layers. Maran lay brown, almost chocolate coloured eggs, cochins'eggs are ...egg coloured! they are a mix of temperaments, which i like.

Looks like it but fascinating I must say....I have learnt so much about farm type things over the past year from LIR. I could almost 'talk' horses if I had to. I know they don't like being kept alone.

I just popped in and cannot write at the mo as am far too consumed with stressss.......it's all too much at the mo.

LIR - didn't know you kept chickens. My parents used to keep a pair of cranky old hens they used to chase the dog.

What is the fasination with property in Aberdeen??

That's pushing the boat out :o DH wanted to take the day off, but i'm old enough now I think to celebrate alone with my rolos. :) Two girls from the health and beauty board sent me lovely gifts, and my family wanted to buy me stuff...I just...don't really need anything :o I might ask my parents for the cochin hen if I can track one down. :D DH and i will celebrate on Thursday night hopefully :)

Sounds nice. Have a lovely meal on Thursday or something. I'm off work from now until Friday next week and Mrs C is off on Thursday too. We're going to do some decorating, which I always really enjoy for some reason. Radio on, cups of tea, it always seems to be raining and we just chat away whilst painting. Funny how stuff like that can be fun and you actually look forward to it.

Can we ask how old? ;)
