Missing cat - She is Home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi
My cat has gone missing, been nearly a week now and not sure what else to do.
She lives with my mum as I movedaroundand thought it was unfair to move her
andmy other cat.....Anyway they dont really go far and not for a longtime....She did go missing for abotu 2 days last year but found she sneaked into a neighbours shed.
She is 10 but fairly fit so I know she wouldnt just go off and die somewhere..{sounds morbid sorry}
Anyway, she has been chipped so i know if she got injured a vet would be able to bring her up on the scanner {she has been reported missing by those pet line things}
But another thought came up, this is going to sound a bit morbid also but if she had died/runover etc and someone reported it to the council, would I be able to ring htem and they tell me if they have found a cat in her area? etc
thanks in advance

Yup, call the local council, probably the Environmental Health dept.
Good luck xx I hope you find her soon.Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

Hope you find her. The evenings are getting lighter when she may be a bit more active so you have a better chance of finding her. Print notes and drop through people's doors in the area. Set up a PAYG mobile sim for replies if you can. Someone may be feeding her and she's keeping out of the way when she's not hungry. Try calling her at her usual feed times.
Good luck and let us know x0 -
thanks both. Will ring tomorrow.

There are lots of people, on these threads, distraught at losing their cats
and i havent read one when it hasnt eventually come back and wondered what all the fuss is about, even after 3 weeks away so dont give up hope.

Tis the season to go wandering and poking kitty noses into places where they should not be! Lots of other threads on here on this topic giving advice as to how to locate or tempt kitty back home. No news is good news...one of mine went for 6 weeks once and I took comfort in the fact that no dead body was found.
Good luck0 -
Apparently emptying the contents of your hoover bag in the garden can help to attract missing/lost cats. She may have gone for an extended wander now the evenings are getting lighter and has lost the scent of home. Might be worth doing a bit of local canvassing too, perhaps a few posters in windows? Since taking in our stray pusscat last year, I was amazed to find out how many people have had temporary cat lodgers!0

Please, please go and put notes through all of your neighbours doors asking them to check garages, bin stores, sheds, lock ups and caravans. I did mine last week and on first thing Saturday morning I got a call to say they thought she had run out of their garage. She had but had gone back in and she was in there for 10 days. Tbh I thought she was dead and was checking verges, env. health departments (it is highways who take dead animals) but a few days of feeding small amounts after and she is back to normal.
We go to our shed very little in the winter so someone else could have done the same. I called and called our cat - she never replied - and then she turned up 4 doors down the road.
I forgot I had not updated my thread now I come to think of it.
I would advise leafleting being the first thing you do after you realise she is missing as these get to the people directly. I did posters but the lady said to me that they never checked the posters in the village and had not seen them. In fact, a few days after she came home I got a call to say they had seen her back in my garden!! People will keep the leaflet with them to be able to call you. Please do that tonight. It is quieter and you can call her name as you are going around and it is easier to hear a 'meow' reply.0 -
Hi all
Thanks for all the replies.
We have phoned everyone we can think of..mum says there is no dog warden..although there should be as there are a lot of stray dogs!!
anyway, council say there is no way they would be able to tell us if a cat had
been picked up?
Dad {and my browhen he is hom on weekends} have been walking around the local streets. My dad armed with pics of her even the delivery drivers that do the area have been speaking.
She is very distinctive too as she is a tortoishell HALF siamese. Very pretty looking.
My brother is going back out later on, I will update you all soon
thanks again
