Advice on Chipped windscreen

We used to get £10 vouchers from Highway and used to share them out amongst the staff at xmas. We each got a nice bonus from it at Christmas and it gave the staff an incentive to recommend Highway. They gave a really good service to the customers and delivered the vouchers in person each month which was a nice touch0

With regard to your example of the cost of the glass making the car a write off, the person would have been worth accepting the write off (Prob cat d), buying the salvage and then getting the cheaper supplier to fit the windows. They would have had the same car back, new windows and probably made a few hundred quid
I think he did in the end. I just used the story as an example to highlight how the underwriters should pay out for a total loss rather than instruct a claim to be accepted for a lesser amount.
But this is why they are international organisations and I run a small, local business. _party_0 -

I think it's a good scheme and do I use it myself. Last year, I did pull the plug on one broker who did get greedy (he could see how much work he referred my way and tried to use it as a lever... I wanted to play ball, but not when his demands grew every quarter!).
The brokers that still refer their clients to my company are good guys and have close, long standing relationships with their customers and most of them are from local communities. They have their own reputations to think about and know too well what the differences between large and small companies are.0 -
to the windscreen supplier so when you ring say Aviva's windscreen claim line it will go through to Autowindscreens (Might have changed recently) who pay the running costs of the call centre. Obviously having one large bill to pay each month uses less staff than issuing lots of cheques to other suppliers.
Autowindsceens are now devorced from both Aviva and RAC and if you thing Autoglass are slow, the problems at AW are horrendous:eek:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

AW are in a transitional period. They've removed a lot of fixed costs to streamline their operation. A stronger web presence also suggests that they're keen to re-establish their status.0

Tell that to the front line staff, my missus is training 32 temps this week to say no, sorry over the telephone, most fitting centres closed and no techs, brilliant. :TI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Technically, I'm in competition with them - I run a small, independent concern - so I have no interest in defending them. Having said that, I will not knock 'em either... I'd rather concentrate on the positive aspects of my own business.
Good luck to 'em... and to the people they employ.0 -
The fact that there is NO fitting centre in Chesterfield, their HQ, and that fitting bookings are now at 28 days waiting, I think I have made my decisionI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Does anyone know what the situation is with making a glass claim and your renewal premiums? Even if it won't affect my no-claims, will I pay for it in future increased premiums?
I've just had a side window smashed, and I'm trying to work out if it is worth claiming (and yes, I do know that I should report it anyway).
