What gives people the right to take things that others have worked hard to pay for???

I wish I knew. I had a girl run into my shop, steal a christening display ordered by a customer right of my counter and run out. I called the police, they couldn't make it that day. They came the day after. Told me it was "nuisance crime" but not really theft...er.... then why did replacing that cost me over 200 quids worth of work??

As for the OP, great you got her bike back. But really now in britain you can't even leave plants unsecured outdoors

when i first moved in my house i spent ages doing the garden and put some conifers in (about 10) - i woke up one morning to find they had pulled all the new plants and conifers out and taken the tubs - i saw a man with a wheelbarrow with some conifers in - they had gold string on which mine had - very distinctive string...i cornered him but he refused to admit it....i called the police but by the time they came he had long gone, but, i found out he was a local hardman who wouldnt think twice of getting a gun at me...whoops.....but, he had sold my plants to the nursing home round the corner which had just opened....the manager refused to believe me and said he had bought them through good faith.....later the plants all died on him.........so he lost out through buying stolen goods...the police did nothing - said they had no proof

No, they wont come out but it is important to report all incidents as it will put your area up statistically and more resources can be allocated to your area. If the bikes were all found then the police would have a description and be able to reunite you. Why do people think reporting is pointless? Then you get some class pillock on tv telling us crime is falling and we should be grateful.

Thank you Bikerqueen for reinforcing my earlier point.
Presumably the extra resources may fund an extra terminal and part time post in order that the increased number of crimes being reported can be recorded ? But, how come you can use the word pillock and get away with it and when I use a 6 letter word begining with b and rhyming with sugar, I get censored ?
