    paulofessex thankyou you are right!

McKneff lol quite right where i work!! thanks

paulwf thanks..well i have been with the same company for 11 years now so cant do that bad a job! I have put that in my letter as am very reliable (am late at times but my loss as dont get paid as much!) but 99% of the time turn up unless i'm ill! I am trustworthy and i hope they know this..they tell me they do but?! Thanks

McKneff again thanks..i know what you are saying just should have put it in my first post as asking on behalf of a cleaning job comes a little lower than a solicitor asking for more!! I know i do a good job and that's all that matters! Thanks

Took it in this morning..as i left work and was leaving the exit my boss drove in the entrance! She smiled as she does and waved and i suddenly had this gut feeling of 'ahh should i have done it'! Too late now i guess!
The club is being re built soon and having just over a million spent on it..i hope I will be there for this and was thinking ahead i guess..dont want to leave it till then so fingers crossed!

Ha do you know what makes me laugh I get better wages than most there! I'm my own boss as work on my own and don't have to put up with people like yourself! Oh and for your information it's a posh private club so not a scrubber..more a polisher!!

Haha, good for you. Good luck with getting the increase.

Good luck. Very few people are brave enough to ask for an increase in their wages - you suggest you're good at your job, so I hope you get the outcome you're after. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! :D

So if you get more than others why are you looking for even more ?

    Just greedy ?

How much do you earn an hour and we will see if your request is justified.

Right im biting the bullet and doing my letter asking for more money..wahts the worst that can happen as they say!!
BUT i have no idea how to word it without rambling..help please..basics?

Where you promised a wage review? was this after probation period or other set time period?

when did you start working for them? when was your last wage increase?

have you taken on more work since starting there?

have you a good sick record - ie very few sick days since starting?

Is your work better than last persons? can you prove that?

Are you paid less than other cleaning jobs - do you have any local job offers to prove that (I once supplied 3 ad's from one weeks newspaper showing that I was under paid - the fact I could have applied for them all did help my case)

Give a bit more info about why you want a rise and justify the 'because your worth it' bit and then we can help you write a letter.

    Yeah i'm just greedy!!

There are lots of reasons why i should get more pay but that's between me and my place of work.

As for the wanting to know how much i get paid is not really any of your business..at the end of the day wages differ where you live and also i have been there years so have built it up..what 'most' people get is irrelevant.

Was i promised a wage review..kind of yes..it never happened so i feel justified in bringing it up again..that's just my work though they do forget things!

I started working for them 11 years ago and my wages were put up year before last..that to me though is irrelevent to the situation in hand.

Yes ive taken on more work since starting there

Lol illness in 11 years..about 3 weeks off the top of my head as was off with a bad flu bug..they know i am NEVER ill!

The last person there is still there as we started together so doesn't matter as completely new managers etc now.

I get paid less than most cleaning jobs yes..the fact i work in a private club makes it hard though as they only have so many funds.

I have already done the letter. Thanks anyway too late now! The 'i'm worth it' bit was just trying to be funny!!

With all the info above Gabyjane you have plenty of reasons to be worth it ( which I did take as tongue in cheek ).

Many people didn't get raises last year as most were happy just to have jobs, but the fact more work has been taken on is a really good reason to request that to be reflected in your pay.

Also not being off ill and being loyal (11 yrs service) are good reasons to ensure for the employer to try and keep you.

    Good luck with your request.
