OP,
You may find this useful:

E-mail this https://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vaux/contact/loadonlineenquiry.do?method=loadPageOnlineEnquiry to Vauxhall with the VIN. They should know the specific original colour. They do reply but it takes time occasionally.
Or try and find their CS 'phone number, I did have it but can't find it.
Edit - try this - 08450 902 0440 -
Just rang vauxhall CS with the reg plate. (thanks oldagetraveller)
After a bit of digging they found that it is on their system as silver but that one option was spearmint silver. (see example) DVLA just put silver.
I have it in writing from Welcome it has been resprayed, clearly they are morons!
Mystery solved! :beer:0 -
Have you had the car 4 years?
Well spotted Mikey, the car is six years old, and the OP has not told us when they purchased it from the finance company. The log book is missing, and the colour has been changed, although I would doubt that the respray involved stripping the vehicle back to the bare shell, and removing every component. There should be obvious signs of a colour change, in the boot, engine compartment, under the carpets.
This is one very dodgy vehicle.0 -
Did you confirm the VIN number with Vauxhall, not just the reg?Just rang vauxhall CS with the reg plate. (thanks oldagetraveller)

Oops, prime example of why you should read the previous posts rather than draw dubious conclusions on limited evidence.

Hi, hoping to get some opinions.
i have a car on hp, from Ucan / Carcraft financed by Welcome Finance. The car was 2 yrs old when I got it.
The car is sea green in colour and as far as I was aware always was.
About 5 months ago I sent a SAR to Welcome to get info they weren't too forthcoming on. A document from Welcome stated the car was silver and I presumed this to be a typing error. I did question Welcome on this but they said I should have checked all the paperwork at the time of collecting the car. I did and all my original paperworks states the car as being sea green with no mention of a respray.
I did a check on DVLA as I never received a log book, and DVLA state the car as being silver!
Does this seem odd as I have been advised that it is highly unusual for a car to be totally resprayed also being less than 2 years old.
Thoughts / opinions on what to do?
You bought a car from Carcraft?:eek:, that would make me fear the worst.
Last time I looked there I couldn't see a single car that didn't look like it needed a respray :rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
to be fair the car has been fine, yes I've read quite a lot about dodgy cars but mine has been fine from day one.
The only reason this has come about is due to some paperwork I received from Welcome that started alarms ringing.

I just gave them the reg and they looked at silver options for that year,
I'll ring back with the VIN to double check!0 -
