that colour would be classed as green under DVLA
bit harsh
agree it is green though0 -
We're going to get a hpi check. Bf works for a car dealership so is going to see if can get a hpi check through them. It was a manager there who said the respray was odd.
The photo is quite light and shows it as a light green but its much more sea green and colourful.
I've done a few basic checks using various sites and all say silver too!!!!

To be honest the best advice that you have had so far is to check the VIN plate for the colour code to see what colour the car was when it left the factory.
Checking every site under the sun will only bring back one result, the information entered by the DVLA when they put the car on their records. If this was done mistakenly, with the wrong colour being recorded, everyone who relies upon the DVLA data will get it wrong, which is pretty much everyone.
I think that once you have done this you will have a better understanding as to whether there has been a colour change or a mistake. If there has been a mistake then the dealer you bought the car from has done nothing wrong, it would probably be the first dealer who filled in the paperwork incorrectly, or the data entry guy at the DVLA pressing the wrong button.
I hope that all comes clear soon, and you find out the reason for the difference

I had an astra that was a colour vauxhall called petrol blue, but was down on the logbook as green. It's probably nothing to worry about. it should be fairly obvious if it's had a full colour change doing the checks already mentioned but if your really concerned go see a detailler or bodyshop and bung them a couple of beer tokens for them to give your car a quick check with a paint thickness gauge. Not much you can do if it has been sprayed TBH unless they explicitly told you it hadn't when you bought it, it's not something they need to volunteer to you. If it has been sprayed just keep an eye on it for rust, a good coating of bilt hamber autobalm should help keep the corrosion away.0

Have you checked the colour on all the hidden places? inside doors, bonnets, boots and under rubber or mouldings?
My vote is for a snafu.0 -
the car is a blue green, nothing like silver at all. Its a corsa.
this is what the car is and looks like this - note this isn't the car but a similar one I found on google

It could be a simple mistake by the DVLA when registering the car that noone has picked up on. I bought a brand new Silver 535d BMW back in 2007 and the tax book came back with the colour listed as GREEN.
It would be worth checking out but its extremely unlikely the car has had a total colour change at under two years old. Its a massive job and would require the car to be basically stripped out to the bare shell, otherwise you're going to see the previous colour around the engine bay, under the carpets etc.
Why not get an AA or RAC check done on the car to confirm it is what it says it is? They'll be able to spot the tell tale signs of a ringer if its a stolen car.
FWIW, your average ringer wont risk using a different colour car - far too easy to pick up.0 -

I would have thought its more likely to have been a DVLA / original registering dealer mistake.0 -
more likely a ringer than resprayed(no benefit in changing colour really)
however i agree with a dvla c0ck up being more likely
as has been said, check the vin and look in hidden places for colour change0 -
please dont stress its stolen /dodgy
it happens all the time , alot of folk would still call that a silvery green and as said the dvla isnt fussy what they put down0 -
