I have a brand new Vax Dual Power Pro Advance Carpet Cleaner. I've just spent a couple of hours trying to use it. There was only about a cm of dirty water in the tank after running it for 45 minutes, it just isn't dispensing water anymore. So tried the hand tool, which worked fine till the bristles stopped turning. Any advice on how to get it working again? I'll be straight onto Support tomorrow morning. Just annoying, as you have to 'be in the mood' for cleaning don't you?!

Just to add, when finished carpet cleaning, put about an inch of warm water in a bowl & suck it all out with the Vax,it will clear out the nozzles.
  • thanks so very much.. you saved my vax
  • The clean water and solution tank release water when put in the slot. The tank is a bit loose unlike the bottom dirty water tank.

What could be the problem wanted to use it in this hot weather to clean the carpets.

    Thank you
  • I used the VAX most of this morning without any problems. Then when I was trying to dispense water through the hose (cleaning the stair carpet) the water stopped spraying. I tried clearing the holes in a line underneath the rotating brush (they were clogged with lint) but that didn't help. The problem affected both the water under the brush (controlled by the lever on the handle) and water from the hose (I tried pressing the end of the hose mounting on the main unit to open the valve). I tried the trick of the hot water in the tank.

Eventually after an hour or so, water started coming out so I carried on using the machine. I'd done four steps and in the time between spraying them and sucking up the dirty water (a minute or so) it stopped working again - and hasn't come back this time.

Does anyone have a diagram of which screws to undo to get at the pipework between the tank fitting, the pump and the two dispensing nozzles (the brush strip and the hose fitting)? I've found a small moulded on the underside which gives access to the brush motor and purple cylindrical object with a wire-wound hose coming out of it. But the handle assembly doesn't want to come apart even when I loosen the various screws.

People refer to the pump unit and the blue end - not on my model there isn't :-(
  • Can anyone tell me how to remove the blue end piece to get to the motor/pump, as I have tried to unblock pipes with hot water, but didn't work ???
  • If clearing the holes with a pin does not work the bar with the pinholes is only held by one screw. Undo this and ease the bar out. You will find a black rubber hose connected. Disconnect this and hold it with a clip so it does not disappear inside the machine and then fit a bit of tube to extend this hose and blow down it( you can suck if you want but may not taste nice) After some hard blowing I cleared a blockage and the sponge filter in the machine ( where the water tank fits) blew free. Problem then solved and just reassembled the machine.
