Can anyone answer this for me.

I have a a/c with easymobile I rarely use a mobile, in fact its montsh since I used the phone. I have in my account £2.18 if I wish to cancel it says there acharge for admin of £5 and they ask for bank sort code and bank account. If I cancel I assume I get charged £5 unsure if they take the £2.18 credit although I got that free when I joined. If I leave it and I get charged so much for not using it woudl woudl happen when eventually that runs out.

I relkaly cant be bothered getting an email from them saying i aint sued it there ex amount charge that month, I jsut wanted asimply pay what I use and thats it which isnt much, I despise mobiles tbh. But I have to occasionally carry on.

I applied for the sim card, they took the £1 off my card but the sim never arrived. I totally forgot about it until the quidco cashback was declined.

Do you think I need to get in touch with easymobile to cancel the account, I have no record of the phone number or any paperwork nor did I ever register it from because as I said the sim never arrived. I only ordered it for the cashback and the free credit for my dd to use.

I would conact them to cancel it. After reading the crap people got about paying back the credit they give I emailed to cancel mine before it even arrived. I was told just to destroy the sim card. However, I kept getting emails saying 'you haven't used your sim for x amount of days...so we're charging you 75p" I left these, but then emailed again to make sure it was cancelled. Lo and behold I've just got an email saying I cant cancel as it is £2.00 in debt!!!
  • OK. You don't pay £5 to close the account. If you want any money back THAT is what they charge you to have it refunded. So basically use up your credit and that's it. Next : You are allowed to go into what they call a negative balance up to £10 or 3 days. Depending on how quickly the system picks this up you can conceivably go over £10. They then block the SIM and charge a fee for unblocking it.

Anyways.... rumour has it that within the next few days if a suitable offer isn't made and accepted the easyMobile franchise will be shutting its doors. No official comment as yet.

As previously mentioned, you only pay £5 if you want any remaining credit transferred to your bank account.

I have a sim which has around £40 on it, so this will take me some time to use up. I've just let all the people I got sims for know that once it gets to around £1 to cancel the sim.

Thanks. So if I let the remaining credit down of £2.18 and they continue to take 75p per month for not using it I wont incur any charges

They take 75p if you have not spent £5 over a three month period.

This is why, when I'm down to around £1 for whatever reason, I'm cancelling the sim.
