easyMobile!

Options
After the comments I made on the easyMobile thread in the Grabbit! board, things have worsened somewhat.

I called Customer Service to cancel my account after them telling me the bank had declined the transaction, and found today that the transaction had infact went through and cleared on my online statement.

Contacted easyMobile's Customer Service who wanted my Debit Card details to refund the money, after having admitted that there was no record of my (closed) easyMobile account on their system. I refused, due to the fact that if they could make such a mess of an order, I didnt want one of their CS workers having my card details.

I then contacted my bank who confirmed that I was correct in not doing so, and that they do not require the card details to refund a transaction. I was then told to contact my branch tomorrow with all correspondance and they will chase it up for me.

DOES anyone have contact details for Stelios - owner of the easyGroup? I would like to write a letter of complaint to him directly.

Thanks. :)

Was told by my branch today that they cannot do anything as the company offered a refund, but they should not require my card details.

Called easyMobile again and was told that a refund would automatically be issued within 21 days of cancelling the account, we shall see. (Seems the first person I spoke to either didnt know how the system worked or was up for a bit of card fraud )

If I need to call them again I will be requesting to speak to management, this is an absolute disgrace, be it about £2 or £200.

Is there any regulations about the time a company should take whilst processing a refund? 21 days sounds pretty unacceptable to me.

Just prepared two letters of complaint, one to Stelios and one to the CEO of EasyMobile, will see if it gets any response :)

Received a phone call within 2 hours of the letter arriving at EasyMobile (the one addressed to Henrik Scheinemann, CEO.)

Refund has been pushed forward and will be in my account by Friday at the latest (We shall see) :)

Not to be funny - but do you really think Stelios will care about one letter - seeing as he's probably on some big, over expenisve yacht in the med?? I know your upset but you would do better writing to the chairman of the company (who is not Stelios)

surely you CANNOT go into the red with a PREPAY sim?

that would mean it wasn't prepay, and you've therefore signed a credit agreement, no?

  • i took advantage of the fact that easy mobile were giving away sim cards with lots of credit on for £1. i gave one away to a friend who thought it was great to use the credit up and then easy mobile let him run up calls to the value of £15. i then got a debt collection letter for the £15 + £5 admin charges. My friend paid it as he was at fault. H owever, i am now of the opinion that Easy mobile wanted to recoop the initial free credit they gave you by allowing you to use the phone when you had no credit on.

I have found easy mobile not to be as good as expected for a couple of reasons. They have increased their call charges and you pay at least 15p for any call you make even if you are only on one second (please correct me if I am wrong) and also they have not had any "lucky" days for some considerable time now. I think they will find a lot of customers will use up their free sim credits and not use again but please remember to cancel the sim card cos they are adding 75 p on each month if you dont use the phone!
    Just about to give up!
