TRAVELMAN, I do not intend to enter into an argument with you on here, as it is not the place.
If you read my post you will see it states we do have an ABTA/ATOL and IATA license. If you read my last post I said we DO have an ATOL. I said I had a problem with someone illegally using our ATOL last year Due to that I dont want it plastered everywhere. Im not interested in your little quibbles. Suffice to say we are a bonded company which has operated since 1965. I have been in travel for 30 years. And you?
As ive said I want to help people out on here, give them the best information and the best deals.
If you dont like the fact someone else is offering what youre offering then that is a different issue.
As far as Im concerned the case is closed and I will continue to offer advice to anyone that needs it.

I've got to agree that not publishing your ATOL number is suspicious, why are you happy to give out your ABTA number but not the ATOL one. And seeing as the info is in the public domain it's not as if it's private (plus I can't see what sort of misuse you can do with a number on its own). Being all paranoid about your business makes me wary of what sort of service you would offer and other information you may withhold. But thats just my opinion

I have already answered this in my previous post.

I think this whole matter of ATOL is being confused.
We only use our ATOL number for a miniscule part of our business when we put packages together ourselves. As a Travel Agent the majority of my business is done through ATOL bonded tour operators. We are ATOL bonded to a certain amount and I am far happier to put my business through major Tour Ops bonds, than use up my own. OUr own packages are only put together if we find a much cheaper deal than Tour Ops are offering. In my experience customers still prefer to book through Tour OPs and receive the relevant benefits of doing so.

Chris is interested in ATOL because he puts a large amount of packages together for the Instant Holiday homeworkers to sell. Which is great. Great service, but not something we dont do on a daily basis, purely because we dont have to.

I really dont want to get involved in all this. Im a travel agent. Have been for 30 years. All I came on here to do was help people out. I said we wont get beaten on price, purely because thats what I offer to my customers. It wasnt an advert, its a service I offer in my shop.
I'll continue to give advice on here. If people want to take it they can. If people want to enquire further - they can.
