  • Hi titch,

Yes.....we all get so blinded by moneysaving that the term 'wood & trees' come to mind!

In all fairness Martins programme if i remember the 2 hols in question were failrly high value, ie 2 x Dominican republics & a family of 4 half-term (incidently October 1/2 time is a prime time NOW to do a split booking-ie bag cheap flights now with the economy airlines & piece together with the accom/transfer-before prices increase) so obviously there is room for some manouvre, but the message some people will gwt is that if its £109 let's try for £99...(!)

    hi
i have asked Chris(travelman) for advice a few times and he has always given me and other money savers good advice.

twice i asked him about longhaul flights which Chris doesn't deal with but he gave me the contacts where i could enquire.

Chris gives us good informative advice even though i have not booked a holiday with him

I dont know where the sylvey bit came from ,it just started appearing at the bottom of my messages :-)

This was an actual price for a holiday not just a figure I've dreamt up.
Why won't you give out your ATOL number? and are you ABTA bonded?
This is the internet, its full of fraudsters. If people can check you out then they would be far more confident about dealing with you.

Theres plenty room on here for more travel consultants, offering usefull advice and maybe some good deals allong the way but if its just a cheap plug for your business because youv'e noticed TRAVELMAN gets a lot of enquiries then people will see through that.

If you untick your signature inclusion it wont show Sylvey at the bottom.
Ive already said we are ABTA bonded. Ive already said Im not on here for commercial gain.Unlike some others. If people want to book through me they are welcome to all my bonding details. Im here to give advice primarily. If you want my ABTA number i'll PM you with it.
  • Pee-jay,

The reson budgetflyer was asking for your ATOL number & ABTA number is that he has written a great free e-book (look under his profile at previous posts) & he is aware that ATOL gives the consumer protection against those selling a split-ie flights & accom seperately in which case, as you know, accom. only companies DO NOT HAVE to have ANY bondingl-leaving the consumer open to problems if the company goes bust, they are overbooked, etc...

You'll find that MSE posters will want to check your ATOL (& ABTA) number on the CAA web-site to make sure they are covered BEFORE they go to the time & trouble of asking for a quote/help.

I can't understand why you are not willing to post this info? This is why Budgetflyer has asked for it. Obviously if you do not have a separate ATOL licence you can still quote hols but not as a 'package' with the asscociated protection.

Sorry to ramble but I'm just explaining BUDGETFLYERS point.

If you must know we had a legal problem with someone using our ATOL number last year.
    Our ABTA number is 84078.
AS I said I am on here to give advice to people.
THey are welcome to book through me if they wish. We have been established since 1965, so there is no fear of bonding or fraudsters.

  • Hi there,

Just to remind everyone that the purpose of this forum is to find the best travel deals for everyone. What we don't want is the forum filled with adverts that are posted for personal gain. The more advice that is offered the better for everyone, but we don't want this to lead to conflicts between posters. The most important issue is that MoneySavers are getting the best deals possible and the best advice is being given.
  • Quote from Pee-Jay page 1 'We are a fully bonded agency with ABTA/ATOL and IATA licences.'

Ok-obviously NO ATOL licence-so above statement is not correct. Pee-Jay-all the posters want to know on here is that information you provide is correct-quite simply IT IS NOT as you have not ATOL licence number to give.

We both know that the ABTA licence allows the sale of ATOL Tour Op's but experienced MSE traveler's like BUDGETFLYER need to know that any flight & accom 'put together' is NOT a package holiday (with the asscociated protection) & this must be made clear at the time of booking & quoting.

Why did you say you had an ATOL licence when you have just said you have not?

    Chris
