Wed 3rd March - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D
Morning gang!

I'm having a sneaky day off today - I should be going to Uni, but I am absolutely shattered, finding it hard being back at work and putting up with the Crohn's too...boooo:o So I'm going to take the day off, try and start my assignment.
Have the letting agency doing a check this morning at 9.30, so I''mgoing out for that....not being here while she inspects:rotfl: SO will be home early, to rest and try and work...wish me luck
to any new posters and
to you regulars!!!

I'm trying to work out if I can 'afford' to get married later this year or if I'm best to leave it maybe for a bit or til kids are bigger - The wedding part (Wellies, woodland, woolly hats) isnt that expensive (<£1.5k), the romance is all there and fine and well, but after 7 years of being together if we get married/live together - I'm trying to work out IF I can actually afford the change in income that will mean for me as a single parent and the kids (eg DS is due his EMA later this year, WTFC etc etc etc) - need to think and then talk to OH. I know I sound so unromantic - but it will mean quite a change financially for me (not so much for him - we've not done the 'finances' talk bit - He's got a really really good salary but I've always just been independant). Who says romance isnt dead?????? Or am I just too stubborn/too independant after all this time and I know I don't really want to be financially dependant on someone else?
I got to thinking about this yesterday when thinking about single parentdom - sorry for dumping this here - it prob belongs on my diary.
ETA quidco money is in WOO HOOTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Hi everyone,
Enjoy your duvet day Millie - we all need one now and again!
Hope your conversations go well tonight Josiebabie
Triangle - hope being with the new team works well - what are you training to do?
Today I will:
-check banking - determined not to go into overdraft this month - if I am focused I can do it! Hopefully quidco money will be in account and help out!
-find out about getting milkman to deliver milk - think it will be moneysaving as often pop in to buy milk and "remember" things I need when in the shop. Have been getting organic veg and fruit box delivered and it has saved a fortune, in not popping in to get potatoes and picking up other stuff while there! And the veg is sooo tasty and I do my mealplan from it
-post back lovefilm DVD rather than meaning to do it and not using my 2 films a month
-email a friend in germany and see if she is on skype
-if stays dry washing outside to dry and make a start on the garden
-lots of lovely free cuddles and songs and stories with my baby, breastfeeding and reuable nappies. Will also wash his bottom with water and cotton wool - has just been diagnosed with eczema and on steroid cream so want to reduce risk of anything irritating his skin more, so no more wipes!
-MUST MUST MUST sort out childcare vouchers! I keep putting it off!
-Do some more of the cross stitch picture I am doing for DSs room
-make leek and goats cheese tart for tea tonight - yum!(Lidl does the best goat's cheese!)
-spend some time reading threads on here for motivation.
Thanks everyone esp MillyScarlett for keeping this thread going - it really does focus me!
Have lovely days everyone
