MSE Parents Club Part 11

3, I advertised him in the ad-trader, a very very vague advert so that anyone who was interested had to call. Was basically '4year old collie needs new home with no children, excitable, requires knowledgeable and experienced owners'. More or less a 'do not go for this dog unless you know how to handle him!' advert. Took about 6 months on and off (we advertised him for a few weeks at a time, changed our mind, then thought better of it, he snapped at Chris but as he wasn't getting walked it wasn't his fault, so we made the decision to rehome him).
A couple kept phoning (and not turning up, the thick sounding ones). But I did speak to them a lot. Eventually they did turn up, and while yes they are a bit thick, they are also very nice, stay on the guys parents farm that has 11 other working collies and have no children. The wife wanted a house dog, but no time for a pup so Odie was perfect for them, and he was for them too. He settled in well, made a mess the first night (which I said he would) but is now quite happy, gets a nice long walk at night round the farm, gets on with most of the farm collies and is being introduced to sheep!
But I have told some porkies when people have turned up that are just idiots.0 -

We have the Koo-Di one very similar to no.1 (but cheaper) I linked to it to recommend it a few weeks ago. Benjamin loves it because he can sit in a chair like a 'big boy' and it tends to keep his attention longer than the multitude of bad highchairs that you get in restaurants.
But!
The booster one may be better for Rhys because he is smaller. Benjamin can see over the table when he sits on a chair...can Rhys? No point sitting him at chair level if he is just looking under the table!
Also, if chair backs are particularly tall the Koo-di one struggles a bit.

Strange night at MFD towers. I felt a bit rough at work, a sore back and a lump in my throat and a little dizzy. Drove to pick Benjamin up feeling okay but a little woolly-brained. Got home and practically passed out. Began to ache all over and shiver and sweat and throw up.
Hubby was late and got home at 7.30pm to find me zonked on the sofa and Benjamin playing still in his clothes.
Hubby got Benjamin ready for bed and I went to bed with him at 8pm, shivering under the duvet.
Hubby took Benjamin to the CM this morning and I stayed in bed, got up about 11.30am and had a hot bath and I feel practically back to normal...still a bit sore but mostly okay.

How can I stop my baby from chomping on my nipple?!
From Dr Sear book: instead of pulling LO away and screaming (lol) draw lo in close and lo should automatically let go in order to open her mouth more and uncover her nose to breathe. Biting can be a way of telling you they've finished eating if so you need to interrupt the feeding before the biting starts. Teething can also be a cause in which case have a frozen teething toy or finger for them to play with before or after feeding. To interrupt feeding put your finger between gums and nipple or use your index finger to depress baby's lower jaw. HTHMum to DD born Oct 2009
