I didnt date, I lived with, had baby, got engaged !! everyone is different, and I personally dont see the harm in getting engaged after a short time if you are happy.
You cannot assume that because it didnt work for your mum, it wont work for anyone else.
And as harsh as this may sound, sorry, but living together is a very big deal !! More so than marrying them in my opinion, possibly not if you rent, but me and Chris had bought a house together when we were only together 11 months and that was a huge commitment !!

Yeah i know what you mean. I've been happy to let her feed constantly all night, as she wasn't twisty and i could just chill with lappy while she fed, but now that it's quite painful and she's moaning, it feels hard! It was nice to give her a bottle tonight, whereas the other time i tried her with one i wasn't bothered so put her on boob again. I got my DS to feed her while i ate my tea, and she took 4oz for him :D It was so cute, she was eyeing him up the whole time, although he was more interested in CBBC :rotfl:

    Evening ladies,

Reins - I think Katie used them until she was steady on her feet, now she's free range, but she is happy to hold hands/the buggy/dog lead.

I've lost her once - after church the Sunday after the first lot of snow this year, she followed 2 of the older boys outside to play in the snow!

Tara - fab e-mail and go for a minuted meeting.
Elle - yay for a good hospital appointment - I wonder what the dietician lady would make of me?

fair dos mm but marriage is a HUGE! thing .. you're promising you'll be together forever and saying this in front of family friends and 'god' that you'll be with that person til the day you die .. how can you promise that if you dont know them that well .. how can you know all there bad habits and live with them and be happy if you never have ..

also money can be split easy .. a marriage cant x

You can't judge other people's relationships... Everybody does things in their own way and just because one thing works (or doesn't) for you / those you know... Doesn't mean it will or won't work for somebody else. I would never dare to criticise someone elses relationship because at the end of the day I don't know how their minds and hearts work...

I also know what it's like to be alone for a long time, and that's no walk in the park either...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Well as controversial as this sounds .... if you are truely marrying in front of God then you really shouldnt be living together before you get married anyway !!!

A marriage is actually easier to get out of than a mortgage !! And trust me I deal in separations of property and when you are married it is far far far easier, so the house is more of a commitment in financial terms, just possibly not in emotional ones.

On the reins subject, i don't think they're akin to dog leads at all.

I used a wrist strap with DS, think i bought it first of all cos we were going to a fair where it'd be busy, and although i held his hand anyway, it was just extra freedom so we didn't have to hold hands constantly and he could have a bit of extra independance without me worrying about him getting muddled up in a crowd of people.

I didn't think i'd used it much but i seem to remember buying another when we lost it so i must have missed it.

good arguement from both .. oh the god was in quote marks as myself i dont believe in that .. just see marriage as a huge thing to commit to but how can you commit if you dont know them i seen it soooooooooooo many times of people my age (mm i know you're not much older but you seem to be wiser then your age) doing this all the time without looking at what they are really doing and break up within a year then wonder why x
