Morning all
Having a better day so far
The reason we are mixed feeding is because i was up all night breast feeding, and then awake all day feeding her. Meaning i wasn't sleeping and i started getting really down and crying all the time.
OH was worried, so we spoke about mixed feeding. It was a really hard decision to make as i felt guilty, like i was depriving her of breast milk.
But its been working really well so far and she's putting on weight
She has had her first BF of the morning so far and is now asleep cuddled into me
Lol, when she is hungry she has started making snorting noises and shaking her head about. Its really cute and funny to watch, she gets so into the snorting/head shaking when im trying to feed her she doesn't realise :rotfl:
I also vote for a lovely brotherly photo Weezl!
I have 6 days of my phone contract left! :j Then i can get the sexy new Sony Ericsson Vivaz0 -

Morning ladies,
Weezl - not egotiscal at all, just a very happy mummy.
Welcome all newbies.
My voice is still MIA and is now accompanied by the most horrible cough.
Got swimming this morning, hairdresser this afternoon, I also need to find time to order Katie's birthday cake and get ready for a birthday party!
I think food shopping will be done on-line this week I don't think I'll find time to go in store, as I need to buy new shoes tomorrow for my interview on Tuesday.
Katie was the picture of elation last night she lost one of her favourite soft toys a few weeks ago and we found it last night, it's not been out of her sight since.Proud to be dealing with my debts
DD Katie born April 2007!

Is that what everyone's raving about lately? I've never looked at the links before. That one above has won the Mother and Baby Mag "Best Newborn Sleep Aid" gold award
It certainly is. We love it, a lot!
Congratulations Weezl. I am so pleased it is all going well for you and DH and it was lovely to read your happy post. I suspect you don't have an egotistical bone in your body, so please don't worry about it coming across like that.
Morning lovelies :j. We are off to the in-laws today and a party tonight.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
maybe we'll have to run into Argos for a seahorse then...(though maybe I shouldn't waste the money since we're not having problems!) actually got a shiny fancy mobile for ultra-cheap off eBay, I just need to buy batteries to run it!
Finn's getting his BCG jab today. I do understand the point, but this is the one I'm least enthusiastic about as I don't even have it and other British children get to wait 'til they're 14! (they don't do it in the USA). Hoping they offer to weigh him though as it's been over a month
(bad mommy!)
Oooo MDW when is Katie's birthday? very exciting!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

:xmassmile Mummy to Finn - 12/09; Micah - 08/12! :j0 -
Morning ladies,
Weezl, you could never sound egotistical. You sound like a lovely, proud, glowing mummy.
Aless - we had the BCG at 4 weeks old here, it was before Isla had any of her other jabs.
Sami - lots of 'be good little boys' vibes coming your way. I think you cope amazingly with your OH away so much.
MDW - hope your not feeling too poorly and glad Katie's happy with her rediscovered toy.
I've booked my train ticket to go and see my sister and squishy 5 week old nephew :j I'm staying away from home with Isla for two nights, it'll be my first trip overnight anywhere with her but at least my sister has everything for a baby so all I have to take is me, Isla and our clothesBelly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -

Interestingly it is actually not given to 14 year olds anymore as it was found to be more effective the younger it was given. So now it is just given to young babies in high risk areas, or those with high risk parents/from high risk countries. Hope it goes ok0 -
Oh sami! Please have a hug from me.
It is very hard to be alone with crying children. You are really amazing to be so ok so much of the time with M's work patterns and the way it affects family life.
I know too that you have family support, so maybe people think you are immune from that feeling, but actually, the support from parents and in laws is much more based in the day times and that's often the much easier bit of parenting (from my limited experience so far!) than the lonely times in the night when it's dark.
*contented, happy, well little boy vibes to C and E for while daddy is away*
Can I just add a ps too about my happy post of yesterday.
The reason I wrote it was because I've been aware of feeling quite down these last few months, and taking a lot from you all, and feeling very supported and grateful.
I didn't spell it out very well, but my post was a way of saying 'Thanks for all you've done at a hard time for me' and to let you know it's been worth it.
I'm sorry if it more seemed like an egotistical: 'look at me having a lovely time' type post. I thought that after I wrote last night:)
...thank you.
Your post was lovely, nothing egotistical about it in the slightest!
Its wonderful to hear you are happy now after being a bit down xxx
I feel surprisingly good this morning, I think it's because I had gone to bed early last night and managed a bit extra this morning
I was gutted last night though after having to throw away my milk everyday this week because Ed refused bottles there is only 1 bag left in the freezer.
My right boob was massive and Ed wouldn't feed so I had to leave him to cry in his crib and express some, I got 3oz in about 2mins and cried when I had to pour it down the sink (not only was the pump and bottle not sterile, the pump had mould on it)
Not sure what was wrong with him but I gave him calpol thinking what ever it was was causing pain hopefully that would help but not sure it did anything because it was an hour after I gave it that he calmed down.
I feel bad though that I had spicy chinese so it could have been that:(

considering the amount of migrant workers from countries that still have TB we have these days surely we should still be immunising against it, no?0 -
Sami it's heartbreaking pouring the EBM away isn't it? We've been trying with the bottles again this week in the hope she may take it by the end of next month and I can go out for my 30th. If I give her the empty bottle she'll lick, suck and play with the teat but as soon as there's milk in it she goes berserk. I've been putting a drop of cooled boiled water in and although she doesn't drink it she'll happily have the teat in her mouth, just not if it's milk in there (confused smilie)Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0
