Right about time I joined you ladies properly but no idea how am gonna keep up! Where does time go when you have a newborn? Its mental, but in a truely fab way :D

Gonna start by asking 2 Qs..

    1) seem to be suffering with swollen ankles and feet atm anyone got any good tips?

    2) am breast feeding and all was going so so till today when my milk came in and now apart from having mahoosive boobs it seems to have thrown everything out of whack! Fed at 9.30 this am and then really struggled to get her to feed till 5, she had good but short feed (22 min) and now sparko again, tried to get her to feed at 8.40 and she fed for about a min then fell asleep again! Could this just be her adjusting to new milk?

Swollen ankles/feet... raise your feet when you are in bed so they are above your heart level. Crossed legs is not allowed!

She could be adjusting to the milk but make sure she is able to actually get on the breast properly.. it may require expressing a small amount so the nipple is soft enough for her to get a good latch on.

22 min is perfectly fine length of feed. Consider if she gets maybe 1oz milk per 5 minutes.. that would be just over 4oz.. if she took that in formula you wouldn't think it a 'small feed' with a stomach the size of a walnut!!

    Morning all :D

EA - do you have kindofs mobile number ?? If you do, you can give her mine if she wants a chat. Thats what happened with Dylan and I have been through it all. There are lots of reasons for it, the main one being a thing called TTN which is fluid int he lungs but normally sorts itself out within 2 days, or there is the other options which is persistent fetal circulation which is what Dylan had.
Anyway, all I meant was that if she wants to talk t someone who has been through it with their baby - she can have my number if she would like it xx

Kindof, just quoting MM from a few days ago in case it's either of these :)

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!e

Nope - I can't get it to work either. I tried your way earlier Elle. Apparently it's Alt Gr + e, but that's clearly not working so it must be an MSE thing. Strange.

KOAG - glad you are with little Elliot and fingers crossed things improve for you both soon. xx
