I know it's really good that the little boy who was kidnapped is home - but his dad REALLY gets on my nerves with his constant showing off and telling the boy what to say!

Maybe its cos its the public link and we're already friends? Weird!

Agree on the kidnapped kids dad, and did they explain where they got all that money from when the pics they showed of their houses were of really down trodden slum-type houses?

Cot raised, put Caitlyn in a sleepsuit, she didn't really wake up... Just fidgeted all her blankets off and I couldn't just leave her naked... Feeling a bit more confident now... Thanks for the reassurance guys!! :)

    night all...

Right about time I joined you ladies properly but no idea how am gonna keep up! Where does time go when you have a newborn? Its mental, but in a truely fab way :D

Gonna start by asking 2 Qs..

    1) seem to be suffering with swollen ankles and feet atm anyone got any good tips?

    2) am breast feeding and all was going so so till today when my milk came in and now apart from having mahoosive boobs it seems to have thrown everything out of whack! Fed at 9.30 this am and then really struggled to get her to feed till 5, she had good but short feed (22 min) and now sparko again, tried to get her to feed at 8.40 and she fed for about a min then fell asleep again! Could this just be her adjusting to new milk?

    Working on baby no2 :D
  • Hi Somnium - don't worry about keeping up, just jump in and join in when you can, that's what I do :)

No idea on your questions I'm afrai. My instinct with question number 2 is that it is just baby adjusting, but I'm sure the experts will be along to confirm :)

Som, the midwife told me the swelling was just because all the excess water hasn't left your system yet, just keep your feet up and it will be gone in a couple of days... :)

As far as feeding goes, she could just be filling up on your milk but do keep offering it to her if you don't feel she's had enough... Has the midwife checked your latch? If in doubt, give the number in my sig a ring in the morning :)

Becles & Susan - me & Evie had a great time at Giants Den. Charlotte and James and Alice are lovely. Will have to do it again sometime soon. :j

    I'd like that. I enjoyed it :)

Poppie - Yay that is brilliant news :j

DKAM - have you looked into budget hotel rooms like Travel Lodge. They're a bit basic but I had some good times away with my boys when I was a single parent. The best was one on the outskirts of Edinburgh that I got for £5 a night for two nights. We travelled in by train each day and they loved doing all the touristy bits!

Som - I had extreme swollen ankles and it did take a few weeks to go away. Best thing is to try and sit with your feet raised as much as you can, so have your legs up on the sofa when you are sitting down, and put a pillow under your feet when you sleep. I'm sure yours will go quicker than mine did though.
Here I go again on my own....
