LOL was just watching Sami's video on FB. Ed is so cute!

K keeps saying 'uh huh' in all the right places!!! Its totally freaking me out!! It must just be freaky coincidence (sp?) but its so weird!!
I ask him things that have a yes answer and he goes 'uh huh' every time, but I don't think he says it any other time.

    Random noises or child genius............lol

It can take up to 5 days for milk to come in so don't fret.. just keep feeding baby when she wants it!

You may be sore just because you'll never had to be on dairy duty before.. they toughen up after a week or so. If nips are shiny and red and the first few sucks make you want to be sick it hurts so much it may be thrush.

If it hurts mid-feed or she feels like shes not on right flick her off and try again.. best way to get them on is to poke them up the nose with the nipple wait until the mouth is as wide open as it can be and roll the baby onto the boob rather than moving you to her or just her head to you.

Kindof, my contractions didn't have a pattern. I timed a few and they were really weird. But i called and they could tell by my voice i was in labour lol.

MW said to me she could tell by my voice the first time that I phoned that I wasn't quite there yet.
Weird it must be cos you catch your breath or something with the pain?? Or sound like a dufus cos they ask questions and you cannae get an answer out!

Well with the left one the first few sucks are horrible, then its fine. But the right one has me sobbing and curling my toes throughout.

She's been refusing the right one at times to, maybe she is being nice :D

EA, if it hurts all the way through the feed then she's not attached well... That could also be why she's refusing it, if she's not on well then she might not be able to get enough out... Definitely try taking her off and approach it from a different angle... :) Have you had a go at lying down yet?

Thanks for the birthday wishes... Aimee had a nice time, and enjoyed the soft play with cousins and friends... But then was sick again before she came home... She's not eaten anything for 2 days really, a couple of nibbles of toast and a quarter of a donut... I don't know what to do with her... :(
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

It is indeed :) Didymos nino violet/rose to be precise lol. I've got the Girasol Moor on order too, I can't wait for it to come next month, I'm expecting it to take some breaking in before it's as cushy as my didy though. I love my wraps but use my BH and ring sling quite a lot for their speed, Isla doesn't like being fussed about when I'm wrapping! I really need to master back wraps soon too.

You are so cool! Celia is a wigglepants too when she's not in the mood! The moor is the two tone one isn't it? Please post pics with my name on them I had to fight very hard not to buy that one! I reeeeeeally need a Jim, I have a pink Jim but someone brought a Jim original on Wednesday and oh my it's pretty!

Has anyone checked your latch on the right side? A not quite right latch could be causing the pain? Try a local boobie group or a lactation consultant if you know of one, or your mw. It will ease off, promise, I really remember the ow ow ow ow ow ow, for the first few sucks! If you've got cracks or anything lansinoh or your own bm will help. (Have you got cracks? That may indicate a wonky latch)

I think i have cracks, i also have a few scabs!

Have some Lansinoh and its been helping, but the bf counseller said not to use it much :(

I will get mw to check the latch again on Monday when i go to clinic, the BF lady said it was ok, but it doesn't hurt to double check.

I just managed to hand express a few tiny drops though! :j
  • Nice to see you on here, EA! As everyone has said it does get better. It is honestly second nature now, to both of us!

Pigpen's advice to aim nipple at nose, then wait till the mouth is wide open is a brilliant one. It really does work.

Just seen your post. Some people are a bit funny about using Lansinoh, I'm not sure why, but it honestly got me through the first week of BF when my nipples were cracked and bleeding so I say use as much as you need!

Kindof- I agree that if you are struggling you should pop up to the hospital so they can check what is going on. If you're not very far along you can always come home again, it's not like you're stuck there. Fingers tightly crossed that Elliot arrives in time for Mother's Day.

    SS- enjoy your sleep.

Sami- I saw the FB video of Ed and it is so, so cute!

Henry found his feet, and rolled front to side! Very, very cute!
