My Nanna told be that you weren't allowed to wash your hair during your period. I'm not sure why?!?
Maybe because some people lean back in the bath to wash their hair and they might get a random floating bit of blood in?:rotfl:
I started mine at 12, a few months before then my aunt made me up a small starter kit with sanitry towels. I remember waking up and going to the toilet. I had my favourite sky blue pyjamas on and i sat down, looked into my pyjama bottoms and shouted " Naaaaannnn!!!! I think i started my period!!!"
She went and got my starter pack, told my mum and bought my sanitry towels for me. I lived with her until i was 14 btw
Me little sister used to call me 'Period Girl' all the time! When she started hers i got my revenge mwahaha :rotfl:
Few Questions about winding/burping:
1. At night how long do you wind them for if they dont seem to be burping?
2. If they do 1 burp, how long do you carry on for to get another one?
3. If they dont seem to burping and you've tried all positions, what do you do?
Thank you
I was up last night thinking about those :rotfl: 0 -

Aww, thank you. Although no matter how much pink I put on her someone always thinks she's a boy!! She's a cheeky monkey anyway.
Off to get ready. Kindermusik today, then maybe shopping or Baby Clinic or visiting parents. Then dinner at MILs tonight.0 -
morning!!
what a gorgeous start to the day
lovely blue skies, hope it stays like this for a few days.
how is everyone this morning?'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
hammyhunter wrote: »Thanks for the advice. I wonder sometimes if it is because he is breastfed so it is a comfort thing but I guess that isn't necessarily true as Glams Jack does it too......Congrats on the changing bag :T
Happy birthday to Doras Daniel
ETA - how expensive are those changing bags !!!!!!!! But they are gorgeous.....* jealous*Krystaltips wrote: »Someone asked me the other day if it was breastfeeding that stopped them sleeping but I honestly believe it depends on the baby... A friend of mine formula fed her son and she had the same problems with him that I had with Aimee... Caitlyn was completely different at the beginning, slept well, settled quickly after night feeds and had epic daytime naps... She went off kilter for those couple of months but she's back to being a lot more settled now... Aimee's never going to be someone that needs a lot of sleep though...
Just my thoughts on the subject! I think a waking baby will just look for what its used to. If you BF then they will look for breast to settle, if you pop a dummy back in then they will look for that to settle. If you lift them out and settle them or take them into bed with you then thats what they want.
K also had a crappy few weeks of night wakings recently at 5/6mths but got 4 teeth so that was prob keeping him awake. He only wakes for a dummy or a wee whinge.0 -
Where is the fair at?
We were up in your direction today, and got a little bit lost but found a Morrisons. I never knew there was a Morrisons so close.
Oooooooh you were pretty much round the corner from me, well round 3 corners:)
Fair is on Whitby Park, which you were also very close to, being by Morrisons.
Becles - Best of luck for your exam today, stay positive:DUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

at night it was just a few mins. i found putting kian on my shoulder helped him burp quicker.
if he burped once that was good enough for me.
no burps- fine, they grow out of needing a burp all the time. if kian hadnt burped after i tried everything, i took it that he didnt need to so would put him down and go back to bed'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

Im doing pretty much what you said. I was afraid i was doing something wrong by just putting her down to sleep when she wouldnt burp

I always found if I put K down too soon he'd let me know if he still needed a burp!0 -
Noooooo - i don't want to tell her about all the horrible stuff that comes with being a girl! I want her to stay 9.

3 - I started my periods when I was 9. I was on the first day of a 5 day residential course with school
I used toilet paper in my knickers
Fortunately, one of my friends had an older sister who had told us some stuff so I knew what was going on.
I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't already know - there is a lot of sex on TV these days, kids are a bit more clued up. I was watching Friends on T4 with DSS on Sunday morning and I was shocked by the number of times sex was mentioned - it's Sunday Morning !!!!!!!!!
Reminds me of when DSS asked if Christian on Eastenders was gay and hubby said 'He isn't, but his boyfriend is' :rotfl:talk about confusing the poor boy! We did put him straight that it was a joke!Krystaltips wrote: »Sorry, I disappeared on you lol... Sat's fine... Dave won't be here though... I mean, you could come Sunday if you really want to see him again...
Aw, as much as I think he is a lovely man I am really more interested in you and the girls
...now IF Dave were a builder that would be a different matter :rotfl:
Cuteness of the day - I went in the shower leaving the boys in our bed (I bring Benjamin in to play with Daddy whilst I get ready in the morning) and when I came out they were in fits of giggles and hubby said:
'Benjamin - do Scooby Do'
So Benjamin said:
'Errow'
