keely remember each child develops at their own rate! Charlie is 2 and i stuggle to understand him whereas Erin is 1 and the few words she does say are very clear and theres no mistaking what she is saying!
i also find thats girls are more often than not quicker picking things up??? probably as they are too impatient to wait lol!

Mainly his speach, he 'talks' a lot but most of it doesn't make any sense. He seems to be doing ok in other areas, he's certainly understanding a lot of what we say now (ie he knows when i say no/tell him off, or ill ask him to fetch something he'll go and get it). I'm probably over worrying as usual!

The red book says 24-27 months, but you can see a HV about any concerns whenever, so I'll try and see one this week I think (get him weighed aswell).

caz good point was gonna say that .. the difference between zoe and jayden is alot by now zoe was walking and saying a good dozen words jaydens just got the proper hang of speed crawling and only just said dog so big difference .. so keely every child goes at there own pace x

keely my friends boy is a month younger than Jasmine and she used to worry all the time about his speech because Jas would be having a full conversation with you and Kais speech was still more baby like, but the HV just told her it was a boy thing and that by the time they were 4 or 5 you wouldnt notice a difference. And you dont, he speeks fine now

thanks guys. I went to bed last night with bad backache and sore neck and legs and cold shivvers, then I lay still because if I moved I felt wrong (and the aliens would get me and Doctor Who was away to the races so couldn't save me, or thats what I told DH when he came to bed at 2am)

He seems ok now, so I'm assuming the back ache is just to do with the virus. This is so pants. House smells of sick now.

Keely, they won't pay attention to speech till 3years old, until then anything goes as far as they are concerned. Until then, just read and tolk to him as you would normally, make him repeate the words you do make out and even keep a record to see how many he is using.

keely once he is talking you know from then on all you do is ask the to be quiet lol!!!

Keely my DS was slow at talking. Well more so than others cos his pronunciations of some words were still bad by 4 or 5ish and i had to nag the docs to refer us for speech therapy cos nursery had mentioned it. It was lots of 'sch' sounds (like a german hehe). Speech therapist said she didn't see a problem as he could make all the right noises, but not always at the right times.

Also, i was nosing through some old parent club threads last night - did you have problems with your neighbours too? It all sorted now?
