workinmummy wrote: »Ahh Glam. Have been there, especially when he was ill. Spent a good few nights in the spare bed with him. Was so worried that he would get used to it and hate his own bed. It is especially bad when you know you have to get up for work. And you'll do anything to get just that bit more sleep.
Also agree with Som about the sleeping bags. Alex definately knows its bedtime when he goes in his, and instantly calms. Now if we could just go to sleep all night and start eating more than mush and puree I would have the perfect baby.:D
ETA: And yes I so know I've definately blown it now.
I'll start using the spare bed when BIL leaves - means I get space but also I can put J far enough away from me so that he starts to think he's on his own.
Yea I use the sleeping bags but need to get some in 6-12month cos I only have 1 and it's 2.5tog. he knows its bedtime cos its the only time he'll go off to sleep on his own and we have the same routine every night.
Might have to start adding a nightly bath in to try and tire him out a bit more.
Natalie - hope you get something sorted soon. I've had Jack's name down for the creche since Christmas cos when I rang back in August they said I had to apply early. So glad I've got that sorted, there is no woay we could survive unless I got loads of MS jobs but can't rely on them!
Sami - you should be OK. I got the same brand toddler bed in the car but had to drive back with the boot openYour car is bigger than mine but you might struggle with having the 2 boys in the back.
quiet today - wonder why?Well done SM!

Just got my babycentre email and part of it says
Is it always 6 weeks? Mine isn't until May and she will be 8/9 weeks then.
I just got a call from the HV and asked about E's check up cos I havent had a appointment through for him, and she looked on comp and its on 28th when he will be 6 weeks and a day, and she said mine will be at same time, same appointment.
But I also have a 6 week check up at the hospital as well.
E is meant to be at hospital on friday for a hearing test but he had one in hospital before he left and passed it, so she said she doesnt think he needs that one, so I need ring them to check (once Ive found the letter )
Som I will deffo try him in a sleeping bag tonight
Thanks WM, I will deffo ask the dr for some, Ive bought him colic bottles and gripe water and aptamil comfort (but havent started him on the milk yet) we're trying everything lol
Gym - yeah we have a baby swing, he can sometimes be in it 20 mins before he wants out lol so he seems to like it, but if you put him in it while he is screaming he just gets worse
Gym - I bled for two weeks, then stoped for two days then started again, I thought it might be my period but its lasted two more weeks so dont think so, I havent bled today (yet) so hopefully its stopping now
Sami - I am pleased you brought up the Ikea mattress thing cos we have one then I read that its meant to be waterproofed? is there something I can put on it?

According to my HV. The comfort milk, already has the colief in it. ie. the lactose has already been broken down in the milk to make it easier to digest and therefore reduce colic. (So you wouldn't use colief and comfort milk together). I tried the comfort milk with Alex, but it didn't suit him. He does better with the colief drops and normal formula. Anything to keep me at the doctors and chemist picking up prescriptions . We also have the Dr Brown bottles, but I don't think they ever did anything for him, and just made mixing the formula harder, because you can't shake and have to stir. Lazy? me?.
Are you not using the comfort milk yet, because you are finishing up another box of formula?0 -
afternoon all!
lovely day here so am sitting in the back trying to see the screen properly, lol!
got Kian weighed he's now 15lb 12oz so has put on 1lb 2oz since we were last there. was a different HV, -older and has her own children. talked bout the weaning and she said we are doin fine. did say to cut out the apple/pear puree i add to his rice as it will make him only want sweet things, but to add a little to his veg to make it easier for him to take and then gradually stop that as well. after watching the programme last night, there is no way i'm having Kian to have baby teeth removed because they have gone rotten at the age of 2.
we're having a curry tonight so not going to try K with a little of that. have some mash pots left from last night, which he will have in a bit.
soothers- we use the TT, orthodontic ones. only have 2, one in his cot and one in the change bag, incase he wont sleep when we are out. he only has the soother at sleep time and i;m hoping soon to start weaning him off that.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Can you not make up milk in a jug and pour it into the bottles made up? I used a hand mixer for them
