SS - that's the reason why we have shortened Katie's name from Caitlin to Katie so that she has a choice when she's older.

I have a niece that had a cutsie name when she was little but now that she is 15 she prefers the full version of her name - Katie is the only one allowed to use the short version as it is easier for her to say.

oooo, me likes the name!! I think it's pretty and elegant yet also cute :D Maybe it's because I'm American and remember TÉA Leoni in sitcoms but I would think most people would know to pronounce it just fine. Better than us who had Siobhan & Roisin as girl's names, both of which are pronounced nothing like they are written!! :D

I like the name mel :D You could spell it like it's said though "tayah" so people won't be calling her TEA? I did think it was said TEA when I read it but I am dumb and only account for 2% of the poopulation.

SS - She will be having my middle name....boring (but french, apparantly;)) Anne. The older two boys have dh first name as their middle name and K has the same middle name as dh, I alway assumed I would have 4 boys so this baby was also getting his middle name!!

BM - I have tried out all different was of spelling it, but none of them seem 'right' however there's time yet for me to change my mind:p

Anyway, if she comes out a he the problem is solved anyway as we only really have one boys name left that we like and agree on

Katie and I share a middle name, it was my grandmothers (who died when my mum was 16), I have always said that if I had a daughter she would have the same middle name.

Oh the second reason I shortened Katie's name is that I am aware that Caitlin is a popular name so it differentiates her a bit as I was one of 3 with the same name when I was at school.

My middle name is also my mum's, although she has Anne-Louise, she just gave me the Anne bit....I am not a fan of giving grandparents names as there is always room for arguments by the 'other' side....Hence why the boys middle names are all after dh, and any girls will have my middle name....It just happens that my middle name is also that of my mum and mil. I did consider giving my first name because of this though:rotfl:

Maz - it's crazy isn't it. I get stressed in the supermarket if I have to buy a bottle of wine and Katie is with me, I've heard a couple of stories where they've been refused as it is obviously being bought for the child and not the adult.

I sort of got stopped. I'd bought a week load of groceries and a bottle of decent wine as we had my parents coming over. It was about £8-9 a bottle, so not cheap plonk! As I was packing and paying, Josh had gone to look at the magazines, then came back after I'd paid and started lifting the bags into the trolley for me. The lady asked if he was with me and I said yes, he's my son and she said she shouldn't have really sold the wine to me. She just informed me that next time I wouldn't be able to buy wine if my son was present and I just said yeah ok, as I didn't want to make a scene as I do a lot of work in that branch.

The stupid thing is the wine was consumed with a meal at home where Josh had a glass as I can legally give any child over 5 alcohol in my home.

    Snap, except I'm just Ann!

Nobody can spell Rebecca and I always get asked something like "is that one B and two C's?" and then I say Ann and I get "with or without the E", then my maiden name was Hartburn and I'd get "is that H-E-A-R-T?" - arrrrghhh. Please I married someone with a really common second name now as I don't get questioned on that :D

Uni was good and I really enjoyed it. Going to be busy in June as we're working on a huge group project that goes on over four weeks. Looks intense but I'm looking forward to it. I come back from holiday on the 7th and that starts on the 12th, so I'll be all refreshed and ready to go.
Here I go again on my own....

I have no idea what to call this one.. we have 2 possible boys names and OH wants one girls name and I like several others..

Word of advice.. Don't ever have 9 children because thinking of names suddenly becomes impossible!!!

Melissa is simple to spell.. now how many variations of Lily can you get? DD1 has had about 200!! I think the best was Lilleigh.. bizarre!

I always wonder that about people who have a large number of children...We only really agree on one other boys name, although could stretch to three if I agree to one he likes and he agrees to the one I like....

I have had about 20 different spellings...honestly it's just silly!!!

Are you going to share any of your names...we aren't real;)

There were no arguments as DH's parents and grandparents died way before we got together.

The other thing we did was that if we'd had a boy the middle name would have been the shortened version of DH's dad.

If we have another the boys middle name would be the same, we'd be struggling if it was a girl as the middle name would need to start with an an E and the easiest one would be the same as a SIL and I don't want her thinking that the child is named after her instead of her mum.

Beccles - glad uni went well, supermarkets are silly.

I've had several versions of Caitlin and Katie, I don't stress as I get my name spelt many different ways, it was my choice to spell it completely differently. Mind you I've had the stand in driver at work calling me Vicky all week and I've been answering him!
