which brings me on to my problem/question if anyone has any experience of it:
Katie is out of nappies during the day. we still need a nappy for naptime and bedtime. which is usually fine. but the odd time, when she has a poo she likes to put her hand down her nappy to see what is there, then continue to smear it from her hand to wherver she is near. :(
Yesterday it happened twice. first all over her wall. then her bed, radiator, chest of drawers and then finally took the nappy off.
I realise it may be because she realises it is uncomfortable, but she never calls for us for "yucks" as that is what she calls going to the toilet.
I scolded her after she did it the 2nd time, but wasnt sure what punishment, if any, I should have gave her. She had already been put to bed for her nap, which never happened due to the 2 mishaps....
We had a little phase of Alice doing this but then one time she got some on a cuddly toy so I put all of the cuddly toys in the washing machine. She still remembers it now (apparently they were crying) and why they went in and it hasn't happened since.

    Evening all..

Thankyou for all your good wishes :) Actually had a really nice day. It was nice to use my brain again (which thankfully hadn't forgotten much as it turns out) and I've also been bought some lovely "return to work/furnishing my new desk" presents by the girls from my old dept - "scrummy mummy" mug, matching biscuit tin, luxury chocolate biscuits, posh teabags and a box of tissues in case I miss Rhys lots ;):D Big boss who used to be head of old dept but is now head of new dept (following?) came to see me to say he was very happy I was still in his "team"... and that he liked my hair :rotfl: IT Dept were a pain in the butt -they were asked for a laptop for me, so they provided just a laptop. None of the usual software I needed (and they knew I would need) and they even looked peeved when I had the cheek to ask for a new network password after they blocked my old one! *rolleyes* Still, nice to see some things never change, they've always been fairly useless!

No huge grin from Rhys when I went to pick him up, but that's normal. He just gave me a baffled look then picked up one of his stacking cups to pass to me... a hint, perhaps? :o He was tired anyway due to lots of playing with Grandma today. Apparently he ate really well all day and troughed blueberries like they were going out of fashion :)

Hope everyone is okay :) Beenie and Harley, nice to see you two posting xx

oh yes! my MIL (who wasn't actually MIL then because we weren't married) didn't talk to either of us for a week when OH told her about Chris, then VERY regulary said that there was no need to have another until Chris was at school. Since announcing that we were expecting Ed it is often said that "that's it now" and things to that effect.
MIL is also seemingly apaulled that her neice is expecting a baby in June that is quite likely to have Edwards syndrome (our info is 3rd hand via elderly relative so details are sketchy but from what we gather the nuchal fold sugests it) she was quite shocked when I told her that I wouldn't have known if either of my boys had it as I refused the tests.
How awful - doesn't she know that there are certain times when you keep your opinions to yourself. What on earth makes her think she has any say in it?

    Noone ever said congratulations!!

DS1.. I was irresponsible too young ruined my life.. blahblahblah
DD1.. I was too poor DS1 was too little (bear in mind we'd been TTC for 2 years!) life was well and truly ruined now! more blahblah
DS2.. what you having another one for you've got one of each, house too small income too small.. *yawn*
DD2.. are you totally stupid? 4 children 'at your age' (I was 22)
DS3.. 5 children!!!!!!! What is wrong with you? You had 2 of each.. cue exceptionally rude comments
DD3.. Well you wouldn't be so ill if you hadn't had so many children, maybe it would be better if this one was m/c'd
DD4 you nearly died last time won't you be happy until you do and leave all these, your house is too small no money.. it gets very boring lol
DD5.. OMG You need certifying.. you almost very nearly just about died last time and was EXTREMELY lucky.. you are an idiot
Whatever happened to the idea of children being a blessing?

That's what I've been told after having Charlotte. "You'll stop now you've got your girl", "bet you are glad to get a girl at last", "that completes your family then" and so on.
I guess that means if you'd had a boy they would have thought your family incomplete then.

When I was 16 weeks pregnant with DS1 I had my mother, dad respective step parents gang up on me TELLING me to abort him.. I was disgusted and will NEVER forgive them for that
This is why such a high proportion of teenage pregnancies end in abortion - they are made to feel like they have no choice.

Now you mention it, I never had ovulation pains before Alice but now I do. I wonder if it is common?

My mum is always very negative about having lots of children (and has told us many times that she thinks it would have been better if they had stopped at two) but I don't think she would say anything directly to us about our own family size. She did say, "How awful" when I told her one of my old school frineds had had triplets.
