Congratulations India - I like the name too :)

And fingers crossed things will start happening soon for saver mum ;)
  • When did everyone's bump start to show? Just looked at a pic of Myleene Klass in the paper who is apparently 4 months like me and she has a 'proper' bump! I'm yet to get mine although I am overweight slightly. Will it take longer for me? Feeling like I have a sad case of Bump Envy Syndrome! xxx

I was looking at her pictures too :rotfl: . I was possibly kidding myself a bit thinking that my bump looks about the same (but the rest of my body looks considerably bigger than hers though! :o)

I do think a lot of very slim women get a more defined bump earlier on. I'm a size 14, so mine took a bit longer to look like a bump. But I'm almost 21 weeks now and I'm finally starting to look properly pregnant, rather than just fat. :D

    Hi ladies,

I'm 26w 3d and only really have developed a proper pregnant bump in the last couple of weeks - which I am very glad about. However, you can still only see it if I wear really obvious clothes, today I am in normal waisted trousers (a maternity version but they have a waist, rather than an over the bump bit) and a really loose top and I think I don't look very pregnant today. I was a size 20 pre-pregnancy though, so I definitely think this makes a difference.

I had this irrational fear that everyone would think I was making it all up (and still have it sometimes) so was DESPERATE to get a bump. However, now it's here, it's bl**dy uncomfortable as I can't really bend at the waist anymore or turn over in bed very easily.

I hope yours appears soon - you might find it a good idea to wear clothes that accentuate your tummy, close fitting tops and over the bump/tummy trousers, then it'll become more obvious.

    Love

    Valentine xxx

I had severe BES:p when I was 5 months pregnant over Christmas and was still in my old clothes, when all I wanted to do was to show off my bump (I just looked like I had a big Christmas dinner!)

If you're really worried you should speak to the GP/midwife about it. I did and the GP suggested getting another scan if I'm concerned, but bubby soon caught up and although I'm still small for 39 wks, I love having a neat bump, very little backache and swollen ankles, and staying active and mobile.:j

    Good luck!

Talking of bumps again, I find that wearing maternity clothes definitely accentuates the bump and makes me look pregnant, whereas when I wear normal clothes, they tend to make me look just chubby. :D

On the downside, when I wear maternity, I look about 7 months rather than my 5! :rotfl:
  • Congratulations India! I hope all is well with you and your daughter! x
  • We have just collected our first item from FreeCycle! Its a moses basket with stand but TBH we were more interested in the stand. What does everyone think about second hand products for their babes? I know we will need to buy a new matress if we do actually use it but is there anything else we should know? xx
  • CONGRATULATIONS INDIA

15 days early as well, your so lucky!
    Mum to 2 beautiful daughters born Oct 05 & Oct 08 :D

hiya, i also have bump envy and feel so small. i actualy rang my mwife and she came to see me last week cos i was so paranoid about it and was convinced i want growing at all..i am normally a szie 12-14 and gain weight very easily, had kind of presumed i would be huuuge by now but im not at all i have aneat little bump/belly and some ppl cant even tell im pregnant, though i find it hard to believe and get the hump, thinking they must think i have a massive beer belly!!
i am 19 weeks now. my bump has sprouted in last 2/3 weeks from nothing but a ikkle jeans overhang to needing maternity trousers!
i told my hubby that myleenes pics wer down to camera trickery and her bump aint really that big (haha bump envy..told ya!)

hopefully myleene has a painfully sore !!! like me too, that makes me feel a little better.

I think it's very sensible getting second hand things - everything is so expensive otherwise! As they say, the only things you need brand new are cot mattresses and car seats (unless you know exactly where they've been). :)

We're very lucky as obviously the baby will get all of DS's stuff, like the cot, the pram and car seats etc. Also, DS had lots of bigger things from my niece, like the big toys (baby gyms etc) and the Moses basket. In fact, a lot of those things will have been used by 4 babies: my eldest niece, my DS, my youngest niece and now the new babe as well.

Bearing in mind what a short time they use the stuff for (DS was only in the Moses basket about 5 weeks), I'm really pleased I don't have to shell out on brand new things as I've got stuff that's in very good condition already. :T :money:
