So why are you here then?
Why lower yourself to be amongst beggars?
Because I can offer advice and assistance. Sometimes the advice and comments I make p*ss people off, but that is life. Sometimes people on here p*ss me off - but I either ignore their comments or put them on ignore. I notice you haven't seen fit to pass comment on bigphil's comment to me, which is interesting.0 -
Well if you have £9 that should be enough at a stretch to tide you over if you only need food. Beans on toast, noodles, things that are cheap but filling? lots of potato things like jacket potato and beans, mashed potato, lots of things to do with potatoes! My mother always said if you have potato you have a meal lol.Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0

If you are supposed to attend an appointment they are supposed to give you a letter which you then have to sign for to prove you have had it otherwise they cant really sanction your benefit if you havent had it and they cant prove you did get it, hence the making you sign the form to confirm receipt.
I would ask them if they have your signature to confirm you recieved the letter to go. they cant simply rely on royal mail who may have lost the letter- then withdraw the funds, thats inhumane to leave someone with absolutely nothing. I would phone up and ask for a manager if I were you0 -

The OP has acknowledged that they were aware of the appointment. Therefore asking the JCP to prove this would be pointless.Gone ... or have I?0 -
No one has to starve in this Country, there are always the soup kitchens and the back of supermarkets to find food.0

OP, the disallowance for failure to attend an interview is a ONE DAY disallowance, not a two week one, so your JSA must have been stopped for another reason? Not actively seeking employment/failure to attend an employment programme or failure to carry out a Jobseeker's Direction result in two week sanctions-do you have a letter to say why your benefit has been disallowed? If so, can you copy it on to here so that we can give further advice on how you could go forward. Thanks.0

Now that sort of attitude does not endear you to people and you are less likely to get any assistance - which means you may get very, very, hungry.
Perhaps you own mother could help you?
My own mothers been dead 3 years, like I said in my original post theres no one to back me up there. Sorry you didn't like my statement, but I'm in a very dire situation sounds ridiculous I know but thats the facts. I'm 31 so I don't really need the lecture thanks, you probably think your good fortune in life is all your own doing, it has less do with you (or you ego) than you could imagine.
Despite the fact you come across like a bit of a prat I sincerely hope you never find yourself in the same situation as some of us silly 'peasants' that you shake your head and roll your eyes at.
There also seems to be a few others like you who have the same oh thats your hard luck attitude and troll with unhelpful comments. For all the real attempts at helping me here you have my sincere thanks.0 -

This is interesting, I have only missed one I don't understand this oldmotherreilly what technically is a 'Jobseeker's Direction'? I have not received any letter so far and to be honest I'll not be holding my breath they seem quite inconsistent but maybe I could insist on it? I get automated letters very consistently.
I suspect the letter is down to human error, my allowance is frequently wrong and I have to go down and wait for a cheque to fix the problem. I find it amazing the same people who admit their mistakes and apologise to me for the inconvenience coldly tell me I'm not allowed to make 1 mistake.0 -

Can you clarify what you failed to attend? If it was a training scheme then a two week sanction would be correct, if it was anything for else for which a reg 23 notice was issued then OMR is right and it would be a disallowance.
A jobseeker's direction is when you are formally, in writing, directed to perform an action which would aid you in securing either employment or skills to help you do so in the future.0 -
It actually depends on what action has been taken against the OP - if the JSA is just suspended pending DMA action he'll be able to claim a crisis loan for a short period whilst the outcome is awaited.
If he has been disallowed or sanctioned for a period then the rules governing crisis loan eligibility are rather complex and not helped by the fact that Social Fund legislation has not been updated to reflect sanctions for failing to attend BTWS sessions (or Flexible New Deal for that matter) - this is basically means the restrictions on crisis loan eligibility for these sanctions can not currently be applied - although this doesn't stop DM's from doing this it should be said.
You are only restricted from a crisis loan for two weeks after the sanction has ended - so it depends on what dates have been applied as to whether he would be turned down.
If its a disallowance then its more complex still (basically 2 weeks from the next signing cycle after the decision was made).
Short answer is the OP should probably apply for a crisis loan if he has no other way of feeding himself for the next fortnight and take it from there...Who's going to fly your plane? / When you need to make your getaway....0
