    Evening Diary,

Thanks for all your lovely good wishes for our doggie, things have progressed loads today. So last night he really wasn't good, really vacant and just not himself. I was fuming with the vets at this point for keeping us hanging on and made the decision to ring the vets again this morning and badger them for the results. So rung at 9am and told them how annoyed I was that we were having to wait for results and that I wanted a vet to call me to discuss. At around 11am said vet rung me (surprised as I was as apparently he doesnt work until Thursday!). Turns out our poorly pup has a really nasty infection and they wanted him admitting immediately. DH came home and took him straight over.

Then during their investigations they found he has a heart condition and this is why he's feeling so bad coupled with the infection and his bronchitis. He's on some tablets now which will hopefully see an improvement. He was really unsteady on his feet when he came home but think this was to do with the anaesthetic as when we let him out not long ago he did seem more himself.

I have told DH that if we can't bring him round from this I am not prepared to put him through any more tests, he looks so p!ssed off tonight. Plus he's nearly 12 which is a grand age for his breed. Fingers crossed he comes round with it though.

Have cried a river today, my eyelids are so puffy. DD1 actually cried today too, but DD2 surprisingly was ok for once.

I hope that over the next few days I can bring some good news xx

    Afternoon Diary,

Sorry I haven't posted, things have been a bit mental here. Thanks for your messages about our dog, I don't really have good news today. So we can't get him eating, he is just really not interested or himself. Weve decided with the vet who agrees that by Monday if we really can't get him eating we will have them come out to the house to put him to sleep. I know this is going to be more expensive but I can't face taking him there again as last night he refused to get up to go into the consultation room. Both DH and I have spoken to our bosses and told them we won't be in Monday. The kids don't know yet weve just said we need to get him eating, can't ruin their weekend too as I know they'll just be so upset and no point in prolonging it for them too.
DH was beside himself last night, he's taken it really badly :( and I know DD2 will too as he is literally her best friend in this world. I have this constant sickness/anxious/nervous feeling its awful.

In other news took DD1 to her first football tournament today, it was nearly an hour away! Its ridiculous to have us travel so far but hey ho. DH was going to take her but he couldn't face it so I took her. Quite enjoyed it and it took my mind off other things.

Think thats about all really. Hope everyones ok xx

Hello MTG - sorry to hear your dog is no better. You've made the right decision, albeit such a difficult one, you can't see him suffer. Fingers crossed he picks up xx
