    Afternoon Diary,

Were back!!! Had a great time, kids loved Legoland but it was soooo busy as most of the schools had an inset day from what I can gather and they all seemed to head to Legoland!!

London was lovely too, didn't get to see as much as we would have liked as DD2 was whining about all the walking! We did manage to get to the Natural History Museum for the dinosaur exhibition though and would love to go back without the kids to see other parts haha!!!

I had £360 budgeted for the break and we spent £358.73 :D, I didn't add it up as I was going along or anything so worked out pretty well.

Things haven't been so good in other areas. On the way we had to ring the breakdown people as the car was really juddery and then some warning lights came on. People came and hooked up computer and couldn't find the fault so sent us on our way with advise to get it checked out at home. Its still doing it, rung the mechanic on the way back yesterday and he said it sounds like the coil pack... sounds expensive! He's going to look at it Saturday anyway.

Next issue is the dog. DD1 got up this morning to say he had been sick in her bedroom. He never ever does this, as he always seems to go somewhere where it can be cleaned up easily. Anyway DH cleaned it up and then said he hadn't been too good on his walk this morning, he was really drooly and seeming not able to wee properly. I rung vets and booked him in for 4pm. In the meantime DH let him out again and he seemed agitated and he's been weeing blood. Rung vets and they said bring him in straight away. I was all calm thinking he's probably got a UTI and they will send us away with medication... turns out its very unusual for a male dog to get one and vet thinks either bladder stones or a tumour . So weve left him there having tests for the 2nd time this year. I am so anxious about what they are going to say but should be ringing soon.

What an expensive week. We don't have an emergency fund as such which totally highlights why we need one. Will have to use my holiday/birthday/anything fund to pay for all this.

Il come back later once we know more :( xx

    Morning Diary,

Last day of the holidays and I'm up early!! Was worried about the dog so got up early to check on him. So the vets couldn't find any bladder stones and no tumours showed up on his X-ray but this doesn't necessarily mean good :undecided (I know I thought that too!). They sent off his samples to check for a UTI and cancer and sent him home with antibiotics. Ive just let him out and he seemed loads better so I'm hoping it is just a UTI and he's in the minority of male dogs who get them! £238 lighter from the vets, went armed with a claim form!!

Thank you PLMBL and Pennywise for your kind messages.

So not many plans for today, the weather is rubbish too!

Think thats about all really! x

    Afternoon Diary,

Last weekday of the holidays :( Nevermind only 6 weeks until 6 weeks off :j.

So this morning DH has hoovered and polished throughout and I've caught up with the ironing so everything is back in its place.

Been to the farmshop and spent £43 on meat, veg, salad and other bits for the next week.

    Thats about all really!! xx

    Evening Diary,

Been pottering about on here on and off this afternoon reading new diaries and things.

I seem to have a lightbulb moment over my shopping every couple of months and tbh I'm not sure anything ever works!!! Really could do with going to cheaper places like Mr Al but I just don't have time.
My new plan is to do a big shop once a fortnight and then the week in between just buy bread, milk, fruit, veg etc. Im hopeful I might be able to spend £30-£40 a month less but will see how it pans out. I did join the grocery spends thread but never updated

    Food today:
    Breakfast - weetabix
Lunch - fancy bread from the local farmshop with balsamic and chilli jam and millionaires shortbread
Tea - Garlic chicken, roasted new potatoes, carrot, broccoli and peas
Snack tonight - popcorn, 4 sports biscuits and dairy milk :eek

Really annoyed with myself for over indulging tonight, didn't need all those naughty bits of food !!!!!!. Haven't even been to the gym this week with not being here .

Car is in the garage tomorrow and if I need to leave it tomorrow il probably walk back home (about 3 miles) to try and combat the bad eating.

Need to get back to routine x

Glad you had a lovely time away, pooof to the queues though.

Glad to hear things didn't show up for the woofer on the xrays and hope it is an UTI for him.

I'm not commenting on the fact you're STILL off from work! that said, this week has flown for me, Roll on 21 July!

Nat Hist Museum was heaving when we went, esp the dinoasaur bit and was just so warm in there!

What you got planned for the weekend?

    Morning Diary,

Thanks for your reply DF0D, appreciated as always... 6 weeks to go thats all I'm gonna say :D. We literally only went in the dinosaur bit as the kids don't do museums very well anyway but this was enough for them!! The queue was busy when we arrived at 10am but it soon moved through and actually it wasn't too bad inside.

So weve had a really stressful morning and DH is really annoyed me. Dog seemed on last legs this morning and would not eat. He's eaten once since Wednesday :(. Anyway we ended up making him some toast as I was just desperate for him to eat, he ate that begrudgingly and he's since had some rice and a few of his dog biscuits. Ive been and bought him some tuna to have with some rice as we just him to eat and get some energy back now. He does seem a bit brighter since eating.

Second stress was the car, mechanic couldn't find a fault with it and wasn't happy for us to spend over £100 replacing something that he wasn't sure was causing the problem. Well DH wasn't happy with this, obviously he wants to feel ripped off by someone changing something that might not necessarily cure the problem. So weve had words on the way to pick it up. As luck would have it the car started playing up as I was nearly home so I rung him and turned round and went back. He managed to diagnose it this time which was the coil pack and sparks plugs. He's charging £130 which isn't too bad considering my sister paid £200 for the same problem at another garage a few weeks ago.

Ive done some walking to combat my over eating yesterday, 45 minutes from the garage to football training to meet DH and the girls.

DD1 has a friends party at 1pm so she's just getting ready for that now.

Hope all ok anyway, hopefully things might be a bit brighter this afternoon!!! xx

Glad you had a great time in London. Bad news about the car and dog though - there's always something isn't there. Hope your dog gets better soon.
