    Evening you 2!

Well the man cave is in the study which to be fair we don't use. The thing is SA if he's up there I get the big TV, corner of the sofa and laptop all to myself so its suits me :rotfl: I can nick his iPad too and have a nosey on his FB just to prove to myself I'm not missing out on anything since I closed my acct in May.

Re the dog he's always been insured, well for about 2 weeks when we let it lapse but quickly restarted it about 2 years ago. This will be the first time weve claimed on it, I dread to think how much weve paid in over the years.

Well DH has been having a paddy. The disney logo has burnt into the top of the TV screen and he's not happy. Currently watching black and white lines across the screen which are supposed to clear it. He loves his TV! xx

  • I've never insured our dogs when we've had them and always taken the risk that what you pay in insurance v the chance you never claim. Probably my approach all over I guess.

We were lucky in that we never had anything with our three (not with us any more) that it was only at the end we needed to pay.

Because we usually adopt rescue dogs and older ones at that, the premium seemed to be a bit pricey, especially for three of them!

Hope the TV sorts itself soon, nothing focusses my DH like an issue with the TV..

  • Morning Diary,

Well weve had a covering of snow overnight, I have to say I was a bit shocked when I opened the curtains this morning! Its supposed to carry on later on so I may well leave my car off the street as its an absolute nightmare to get off if it gets icy.

My cousin had a baby overnight which is lovely news. Ive decided I'm going to make her one of those scrabble tile name frame things. I made DH one for fathers day a few years back and everyone comments on how lovely it is. Just need to buy a frame as I have a bag full of the tiles.

So this morning I need to clean the bathrooms and catch up with my ironing as the basket is becoming unmanageable now! I usually keep up to it but with Thursday and Friday being a write off for housework i haven't. Then take DD to her swimming lesson and pop to the big Mr T's for my other top up bits.

DF0D, if we had taken that risk it probably would have paid off as this is the only claim weve made so far and he's 11! The thing thats always stuck in my mind is one of MIL's dogs who was knocked over by a car. The bill ended up at about £7k  she exceeded her insurance for that particular claim and ended up paying the rest of the bill monthly. When we bought him in 2004 (pre MSE) we were insured for everything even the TD and drains at the old house ha!!!

Right thats all from me folks! Hope all ok xx

  • I've just looked at those word art things, they look good and some nice ideas.. so stashed it away in my pinterest..

It's a gamble isn't it with insurance and to be honest,I probably would insure the next woofer we have (one is on the cards at some point in life again!)

    Afternoon Diary,

Just got back from Mr T's and managed all my jobs before I went to DDs lesson. Spent £8.98 in Mr T's on a few bits.

So the rest of the afternoon is going to be chilling out, making tea which is a roast but using leftover beef from the freezer and just generally getting ready for school and work. DH is going to make his tomato soup so that will do us for work lunches a couple of days.

DF0D, they're really nice aren't they! Quite cheap to do aswell.

    Food today:

    Breakfast: Weetabix
Lunch: sausage and mushroom sandwich... this was yum and I was so stuff after it as I haven't had proper bread (well this was a roll) in over a week
Tea: Roast beef, mash, carrot and swede mash, veg and yorkshire puddings

Haven't had any snacks yet but if I do il have a packet of skips or similar. Sunday will nearly always be a breakfast sandwich and a big fat roast... its kept me going all week!!!

Right thats all for now! xx

    Evening Diary,

My sister brought little nephew over this afternoon, he is so lovely and amusing! We sorted out some books from our bookshelf for him to take as our girls are too old for them now and he loves his books. I know they'll be well used so I'm pleased to hand them down.

My tea was sooooooooo nice! Had roast beef, yorkshire puds, mash pots and carrot and swede mash, carrots, broccoli, peas, mushrooms and onions and I was stuffed... feel hungry now but not going to give in. Ive eaten enough today ha!!!

I forgot to update about my TD. So DH never found the one on Wednesday and then with everything with the dog weve decided not to buy one at the minute. I can generally get by with my airer and if needs be il have to take the bedding to the launderette to dry.

Got a busy week ahead including DD2s birthday so have a biggish food order coming Tuesday which includes party food for 12 of them. This is really eating into my budget so I'm going to make a note of how much this is and maybe transfer from the birthday fund if needs be further in the month. It wouldn't be so bad if the cake she had chosen wasn't £10!!! DH has been known to make the cakes in the past but it causes too much agro so I've stopped him from doing it now!

Right best get some chilling in before the madness starts again tomorrow. The house is upside down... DH is painting his cave. He's been at it since 9 this morning! So he can sort it I'm having nothing to do with it.

    xx

Hello MTG - my DD's birthday is also this Tuesday plus it would've been my dear mum's birthday. Although my DD is way older than yours at 29 (going on 15). No sign of snow where I am so hope yours clears soon.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
