  • Morning Diary, well here we are on another Monday morning!!

Good news from me, I only spent £55 last week which is an absolute first for me! Im also on NSD7 of the month also another triumph maybe we are getting somewhere with this! It is getting easier not spending money.

Last week I managed to buy 2 birthday presents, 1 Christmas pressie for DD and an outfit for a new baby in the family all out of my £15 clubcard vouchers which I exchanged for £30 :T.

Then at the weekend I went along with my shopping vouchers and bought most of the Christmas presents! Just a few more then will be sorted. Im so pleased I made the decision to do those vouchers now theyve made it much easier as if id saved £20 a month, id end up spending it! Made the most of the Argos voucher off too and the Boots 3 for 2's!
Ive also started with the Morrisons spend £40 a week and get the voucher back to spend over Christmas. Me thinks im getting a little obsessed with this haha!!

Anyway all seems good in the world of mummytogirls, who is going to send it all crashing down I wonder?! x x

well done you seem to have it pretty well sussed!

after one of martins emails i finally chased up the tax office about a refund i had always thought i was due from SIX years ago and they agree. they wont say how much but i reckon about £200...hoorah!!!

a little treat outing for us and then put the rest off the debt i think.

  • Afternoon pink, well done on the refund thats fab!! Will that be here this side of Christmas do you think?

It is quite hard going trying to source out the best deals. I could just kick myself for all the money ive wasted over the years!
Glad ive made the change though! x

It would be nice to have it sorted by xmas but they said i'd get a letter in a few weeks and then a chq a few weeks after that. final date for claiming for that tax year is jan 2011 though so if i dont hear soon i shall be back on the phone to them.

i agree it's hard to find the best deals...been researching a few toys my boy wants for xmas and the prices vary so much, even between amazon and argos!

shall have to split the shopping between the two.

I've thought of a little incentive to get everyone on board with the moneysaving at home, we used to have cable tv but cancelled it when we moved because of the cost. I think I shall announce that we will get it back only when all the debts are cleared..that might inspire a few hours of overtime from hubs!

  • Morning diary, all is still good in mummytogirls land!!

Pink, that would be a nice incentive to get everyone on board. It would certainly work in my house. Dont forget to look through quidco etc to see if theres any cashback deals :money:!

Well nothing too exciting to report. Oh yes today will be NSD8!!! Im getting dead good at this! Tomorrow will prob be a small spend day as I will need £20 petrol and some bread.

Finishing my Christmas shopping Friday with a friend, have been searching out lunch vouchers to try save a bit of money. A far cry from last year when we spent £30 in TGI's or something haha how things can change so much in just a year :rotfl:.

    Anyway, catch up soon x

  • Well done on 8 NSD,don't think i've had any recently.
  • Morning diary, just having a little debate with myself here!
I think we have enough bread and petrol to last until tomorrow so im comtemplating NSD9. The petrol light hasnt come on yet so I think we will be ok but dont want to push my luck with it! Hmmmm will see, I suppose if I get bread and petrol today then tomorrow will be NSD9 so its swings and roundabouts really!!

Received the Sainsburys and Tesco little ones magazine through the post yesterday, both with competitions in so will enter those after all youve got to be in it to win it :D!

Oh and after reading in Pennywises diary about doing her meter readings weekly I decided to do mine yesterday. So in 2 weeks we have spent £50 on gas and electric. I thought this was quite high so going to look into switching before winter and the debit balance bills start!

    Think thats all x x

I read my meters too as i thought it was a really good idea and this month i have spent a little bit less than my monthly direct debit of £114. as i built up quite a bit of credit over the summer i'm hoping for a reduction soon!

  • Morning diary!!

Pink, you know id never even thought to do it until I saw it in another dairy! Makes sense though, its defo made me think twice about putting the tumble dryer on! Im going to do them again tomorrow and see what weve used in a week. Its going to be false though as ive had the washer on loads more washing sicky clothes and bedding :undecided. But thats another story haha!!

Well last week I spent just under £100, which included petrol and groceries and a trip to the local farmshop to stock up on meat. My total for the month is £298 which is soooo good for me! Ive never ever spend this low since ive been on my MSE crusade!

Today is NSD10 and I think the next few days will be also. Ive got 2 loaves of bread in the freezer and enough milk and food in. Im hoping if I can have NSD til Friday and then fill up the car and do another shop that will keep me ticking over. Fingers crossed nothing crops up but you just never know do you!!

Think thats all from me! x
