We get regular calls for Mr and Mrs Wilson, who apparently are looking to sell their timeshare. We've had the number since 2005. I tell each person that they've got the wrong number, but it must be on a database that gets sold on, as we keep getting calls.
Not sure what either of us can do to stop it, but empathise with the annoyance factor.0 -
Hmm....
Another similar thread running on another board.
Might be worth sharing....

The fun you could have with these people calling. I would suggest you watch a tv show called Phone Jacker for inspiration.0

Hi
I too have this
I was given a vodafone number by my new employers last August
I began getting calls for a Mr Dennis Nielsen or Nelson not sure how they spell it,they won't tell me data protection etc...
All from debt collectors, his mortgage company, baliffs etc..
I fended them off for months explaining it was no longer his number (very annoying when your in meetings etc)
By this point my company had spent hundreds on business cards, headed paper, compliment slips etc.. with my number on
So no chance of changing it
All went quiet for 2 months
Then last month I start getting new calls saying Dennis has been applying for financial products, credit etc... and is using my mobile number as his current number
I'm livid but Vodafone say they can't help me :-("Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -

sorry im not really sure what that means?
the companies do say they'll take me off but they all have different names so she must be in loads of debt - they dont really cause much hassle once i do finally answer the phone and tell them where to go... but then its another number and another company0 -
Why don't you change each digit in turn and try and call her? You never know...[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0

hun - dennis neilsen was a serial killer - he killed and dismembered they think 15 young men. in the UK. look him up on google - whoever is using your number is a very warped person. i think thats grounds for changing it, dont you?0
