Evenstar - theres so much I'd like to say to you but just can't really post now. but big hugs and my quick thought is just that whilst the communication between you and your daughter may be really horrible right now and I can understand how hard that must be - try to remember that while there is still any kind of communication at all there is still hope. nasty communication from her is better than no communication. She has big difficult and horrible feelings and doesn't know how to deal with tham or express them but hopefully with help you'll find a way or learn a way of getting on together. Really great that you are seeing a counsellor. I am not saying let her walk all over you but just that it is really good news that there is still communication there. and yes enjoy your chocolate.

Jo that reminds me, I was wondering earlier if you'd ever thought about fostering, if not now then later on? :)

Evenstar - why you. because you are being given a chance to learn how things can be done differently and you are taking that opportunity by seeing the counsellor and trying to make sense of things but it is going to be long and hard and very worthwhile.
we are always here to hear your rants, upset and disappointment and please don't think I am saying you shouldn't be upset. I am not but our feelings are like clues and can lead us a long way to sorting things out. and in with your anger is a lot of sadness and wanting to make things work with your children but not knowing how. stick with it and you will find a way to being okay.
    lots of hugs Jo x

  • thanks Jo for your wise words
I am proud of her she has just nerly finished 2 year animal managment course with distinctions and has been accepted into 2 unis so far
When she was in middle school she had a difficult time especially with one teacher, but she went onto high schooland excelled in her gcses getting As and Bs when her predicted grade was C
Me and her dad split up when she was young and i think she will always blame me,I still get on well with her dad and it has always been friendly
However she can be nasty when she wants and knows how to hurt me
and that upsets my younger daughter who is a sensitive little girl so its not fair on her

Any way sorry for all the moaning i will try and pick myself up and get on with something constructive

Paula - I used to want to be a foster parent but while my children are young It is really taking all my energy to just do that and I figure thats my main priority at the moment and is a contribution to society in itself. and its b***dy difficult sometimes especially when the parenting you received wasn't the best of examples.
although I am having a lot more compassion for my mum now I am experiencing parenting for myself.
Once the kids are older I might well look at fostering or I might just be completely kna***ered !!!
