After having a lovely 'up' & v. positive weekend, am now having a 'down' day and need something to get me out of rut. DS1, nearly 9 is really pushing the boundaries at mo and I'm finding parenting him rather hard lately. DS2 keeps copying him, and DS3 is having the terrible two's + an upset tummy and the dog's unhappy as she hasn't had enough exercise the last couple of days. Ho hum! OH is fine though and so is cat!
Anyway, rant over. I guess I must get off computer and get bit of work done before school run in half hour.
Today I have:
Walked dog and 2 boys to school.
Hung washing out on line.
Sorted recycling.
Checked online banking.
Updated paypal account so I can get paid my first 2 sales (ever):j
Checked out OU course for October - wish I could start now!
Paid for organic veg box, that I forgot about.
And I will:
Walk dog and DS3 to/from school to collect boys - EVEN BETTER, WENT TO WOODS & PARK AFTER SCHOOL - LOTS FREE EXERCISE FOR ALL OF US
Make prawn & veggie korma for tea - DONE
Make pack lunches - DONE
Put a dent in ironing pile - OH DOING;)
Save petrol by going to banks tomorrow when I am in area for DS2's swimming anyway
Post ebay item off - DONE
Have LSD - just need milk & washing powder & cat biscuts until big shop - DONE
Restart spending diary - stuck to it in Jan but not in Feb! - DONE
Menu plan for week so can write strick shopping list - NEARLY DONE
Start reading library books, particularly 'How to become a Midwife' - YEP
Watch an episode of Casualty of the many I have taped. MANANA!
Collapse!!!
Be thankful for my lot and realise there are so many others far far worse off.
FAYJMCK - Thank you so much for your take on sorting out boys misbehaviour. I am liking your ideas - and did make me laugh lots so thank you for lifting my mood
. I know my DS1 would hate cold dinner as he is a real foodie and has huge appetite - will keep as ammunition for next round of 'kevin/perry type tantrums'!!
We could all sit in the dark, without any music, with cold food only, and play say, I Spy, - would I be allowed to use eco windup torch to you think?!;)Jan GC £267.47/280, Fuel:£40.60/£40; Cafes: £28.35!!/£20, NSD: ?/20

Emergency: / £1000, Vouchers: One4All £20, HairSalon £50, Caffe Nero £15.62, Pizza Express £90, Other Restaurant £60. DS1 owes camera/car ins.£800.0 -
WOO HOO I actually went into Tesco and only spent £2.36 picking up the things I forgot yesterday of my list! thats never been known before gosh I was good ;-)
NFMof3 you're not on your own kids are hard work even if they're not pushing boundaries - I've got 5 altogether DSs are 15,12 and 8 and DDs are 3 and 3 ;-) my mantra is never say what you won't do so i try really not to come out with either empty threats or empty promises. If I warn them about being grounded etc I always carry it through. That way they think twice when I threaten something cos its real!
Its as important for the kids to push the boundaries as it is for us to keep them - helps them learn and be prepared to compromise occasionally if he can come up with a reasonable argument for something if only on a trial basis - when they think you listen it always makes a difference! sometimes extra responsibilities help when they are around that age makes them feel more grown up and important ;-) Oh and sometimes u just need to scream blue murder/completely lose the plot etc that occasionally works in this house too ;-)
awesome list good luck with the OU course i've done one and its really motivated me ;-) xx

I have a good behaviour policy in my house for my kids which operates on an electricity basis
If they can't behave they arent allowed any electicity
Ie no games, computer, etc no tv
And cold food
And best of all - also nothing that runs on batteries
You only have to cut the plug off of a device ONCE - and remove batteries to make it known you aren't kidding
(The plug cutting off was set up for an 'old' cable which looked like it was attached)
Now I just have to turn up with kitchen scissors and things get done........:)
I've been known to remove batteries and switch the power off for ten mins at the mains to get my point across
They soon listen
(Can't say this is my tip - I 'borrowed it' 10 years ago from a pal with 4 boys.)
Its also quite money saving!!!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hi all,
Sorry to hear your news Josie. I was a single parent for four years when B was small, and I promise you it is far better for you and your child to be going it alone than sticking with someone when things aren't right. We will all be here to support you if you need any advice or a little moan. :grouphug:
T is home sick today, and OH has been taking care of him. I took him to the doctors yesterday and he seems to have picked up a sicky bug. More worryingly though, he was diagnosed as asthmatic yesterday.
We now have to teach him to use an inhaler everyday, and he will need to take one to school. It was completely out of the blue, but OH is asthmatic so perhaps not too surprising. Fingers crossed it will only be mild and he will grow out of it.
Today I
1) Went to work for 6 hours
2) NSD
3) Packed lunch all round
4) Hokey cokey - drying outside. Wow! Lots of washing needed thanks to my little puke monster.
5) Entered cokezone points
6) Cashed in some survey points for Amazon vouchers to buy OH something for his bday.
7) Cashed in my final piggypoints to buy Mum a CD for Mother's Day.
8) Checked banking, quidco etc
9) Made overpayment to CC
10) Sold something I bought for 50p for £10.50 +pp on ebay!:j:j
11) Received a free lipbalm in the post.
12) All meals from stores.
See you later, Lx0 -
Lemon Tree - I haven't used Asda but I have often bought things from HMV via Quidco using a giftcard and it has tracked.0
