HSBC - £350 gone from my account

Well I would be phoning everyday and kicking up a stink as well as doing a written complaint about the treatment. I would ask them for the reasons they refuse to refund this fraud in writing and then restate the transactions that were not done by yourself and the fact they were done so far away from you. I would also state you will not settle for their decision and will proceed with a compalint to the financial ombudsman if required.
I get the impression from here and other forums that the banks are using any excuse to try to weasel out of refunding fraud (like the insurance companies trying to get out of paying all claims).
Don't let it rest there and keep complaining.
good luck

Exactly! What they do is just big BS! I've been with them for such a long time and this is how they treat their customers. I will not leave it like this its £130 of my money for which I work my a** off. I call them every day 5-6 times a day I won't let it go. I called the HSBC complaint department and told them what I think about it I had a lengthy conversation with Visa Dispute Team, Fraud Team etc. They refunded some and then charged it back to my account... How is it that yesterday it was fine to refund it and today it isn't. That's not finished because there is still few transactions coming... For now just £130 was refunded I know another £57 is going to be refunded but I have another £50 charge coming that need to be disputed and of course the charges they don't want to return so i will have to dispute over £180. I am a student I live of these £200 per month.0 -
I guess if they have my Visa details they probably have more than this.InDeepDebt wrote: »Verified by visa seems a waste of time to me.
You type in all details that anyone that wants to defraud you could easily get.
I signed up for something online last week – got the ‘verified by visa’ couldn’t remember my password – so used ‘forgot my password’. Needed next to nowt to get signed in – may have needed date of birth, but can’t remember. There’s nothing there that makes it more secure, imho.

I just read somewhere...
If you are a victim of card fraud or online banking fraud you have protection through legislation, which states that you will not be liable for any losses unless you have acted
fraudulently or without reasonable care...
What legislation is that?0 -

Also this - different circumstances, but relevant:

Report it to the Police as fraud, then give the bank the crime reference number this should show them that you are serious.
Police may say its a bank matter but if you want to report it as a crime they cant stop you.
The banks claim visa online secure stops fraud like they also claim chip and pin does , dont give up , if you have to make a complaint do so..if that fails then complain to ombudsman.
Seeing as this was done via online secure, the bank would have that persons IP address.0 -

I did complain to the Service Qality @ HSBC, I have written 2 pages long letter - I expect them to come back to me with written reasons and a proof that the operations were mine.
If they won't refund my money - well - I will complain to Financial Ombudsman and leave HSBC along with the rest of my family here and abroad. They already told me they will do so if needed.
I reported it to the Police - they told me to deal with bank. I contacted Pizza Hut they told me to contact Police. As you can see I have been running in circles.0
