I would get a bag on wheels but the place is up muddy country lanes - it's pretty much strictly backpack stuff. Mind you I can carry quite a bit!

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

When we go cycle-touring the lack of refrigeration can be a problem in summer on top of the need to remain as light-weight as possible. Otherwise a deep, light-weight frying pan (or wok as lindadykes suggests) is good for cooking lots of things in decent quantities. Pressure cooker, sadly, is simply too heavy!

And we're walking I'm afraid so we are very limited.

It's a shame! Oh well, I'll be bringing a wok then. It's a bit of a pain only having one gas ring! And keeping things fresh for a few days without a fridge.

Oooh! Must get some cutlery and plates!

Im going to Leeds festival for the third year running on Bank holiday weekend this August.

Some essential items I would say to take are:
Wet wipes (closest your going to get to a wash in 4days!)
Hand sanitiser gel (get rid of any nastys on your hands after going to portaloos, can buy for about 99p from tescos)
Bin Bags (can sit on these, store any wet clothes, carry things to site in them, keep your rubbish... 10000 uses!)
Torch (so you can find your tent)

    As for food:
We have decided that we are going to take enough food for breakfast everyday and a couple of lunches plus snacks and drinks, as we will be in the arena all day we dont want to be walking back to make dinner and miss out on bands, as thats why we are there in first place, but too expensive to buy everything, so this is a happy medium. worked out we should save around £10 a day each, over 5 days that £50, for three of us thats £150 saving so well worth it!

    We will be:
Freezing 2, 2L bottles of water keep these in a cool bag to keep some items cool. can drink once defrosted.
2 packs of bacon, 1 frozen, 1 chilled so should last the whole weekend.
    7day fresh bread.
Tins of beans for beans on toast.
Twinks hobnobs and weetabix brownies aswel as party rings & biscuits!
    Marshmellows for campfire treats!
Packet rice, only takes 5mins with addition of water on stove.
Mini jam from morrisons to have jam on toast!
Cartons of juice, and 2L bottles of water (when the bottles are empty you can fill with tap water and wash your hair! Cant face 5days of greast hair!)
Little horlicks sachet, 10p from home bargins
We will be taking a 1burner gas stove, toast maker contraption, frying pan and mayb kettle.

    Any other ideas welcome!
Proud to be dealing with my debts

Bin bags also make good emergency water proof ponchos

I have found a small pressure cooker!
    http://www.qfonic.com/high-quality-mini-pressure-cooker-caravan-elderly-students-p-3169.html
It's made of aluminium and I can hang it on a finger it's so light. It's only 3L but for the 2 of us that's fine. It means that my 3 day menu looks like this

Breakfast each day - Nice Brioche from Aldi (they come individualy wrapped so won't go off!
    Saturday
Lunch - Cassoulet with Bread - probably the flatbread from here http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/babaghanoushwithflat_67070.shtml
    Dinner Someone else can cook!

    Sunday
Lunch - Vegetable Curry & Rice
    Dinner Mushroom Risotto

    Monday
    Lunch - Corned Beef Hash
Probably Fish and Chips on the way home!

Well that's a bit better than I hoped!

I just tried out the pressure cooker - made Goulash(ish) It's got 12lb pressure rather than 15 but it all came out very well. Handy as a neighbour unexpectedly popped round as her kitchen had been ripped out!

Great find, Dronid! How much does it weigh exactly? Could be very interesting for our cycle tours.... 12lb pressure is fine, I also have that on my current pressure cooker.

I'll find out how much it weighs - but I can say I can comfortably hang it off my little finger. It's all Aluminium. It doesn't have a trivet and at home I have an electric cooker so I was worried it might scorch but no problems at all!

Not sure if this is the best place to post this or not - but I'm heading to TITP at the weekend  (woohoo!) and am camping, as usual - however I'm not sure I can face another year of supernoodles and packets of pasta and sauce made with water instead of milk and butter - and I refuse to pay the prices charged at the food vans there.

So basically, I have a gas burner and a pot - what can I make to eat all weekend?! (that isn't too heavy to carry and wont go off too easily).

    Thanks!

If you have access to plenty of clean water, take some dried pasta, sun-dried tomatoes, dried mushrooms and herbs. If you carry a small bottle of olive oil, rehydrating the tomatoes and mushrooms can make you a very civilized 1 pot pasta dish (cook pasta, empty off most of the water, add a little oil, the rehydrated toms and mushrooms - olives, salt and pepper optional but gorgeous).

Instant mash is suprisingly nice with baked beans, and can be made and kept warm by putting it in a plastic bowl with a plastic plate for a lid, for the few minutes is takes between boiling your water for that, and heating your beans (or beans and sausages, if you're that way inclined).
