For the past few weeks where certain web pages are not loading. They are always the same ones, as I keep on trying them everyday.
One of them is Auctiva. The homepage loads up fine, but when I try logging in, the page times out. The same happens with the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree forum. I am able to log in, but when I try posting (I can write the post, but when I click submit) it also times out.
The thing is this is happening on both IE and Firefox. I have also tried seeing if anyting will respond by turning my security settings to their lowest, turning off my firewall (Zone Alarm), clearing my cache, cookies, internet history, but still no luck.
This is very frustrating and I am now going mad and shouting at my computer.
BTW not having problems accessing these sites at work.
Please someone help!!!!

Hi, tried turning router off for about 30 minutes and rebooting it, but still no luck. Any other suggestions?"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
This sort of thing happens to me for no reason and BT don't help either, I know the firewall, browser etc are all fine, so when it happens out of the blue I just have to be patient...0

From your original description, browsing is fine it's just when doing a form submission that the problem occurs. Since it's common to both IE and Firefox that points to something shared by them e.g. firewall.
Do you have any web toolbars or similar stuff installed?
Is the default firewall in WinXP off?
Does the secure sign-in on auctiva work ?0 -
I had this problem, turned out the problem was down to the router, try updating the frimware or at least reset the router. You can't con an honest man!0
