I upgraded from Sky T.V. in Nov 09 to SKY Broadband, Telephone and T.V. HD - the deal was £50.00 M & S vouchers for upgrading to HD for new or existing customers that upgraded.

I rang in Jan 2010 after being told to ring 7/8 different numbers some of which simply went dead and I got through eventually someone once again promised to send vouchers, but I would have to wait again – another 28 Days!

No vouchers received to date so today I rang SKY again 01/03/2010 told them I had not received them. They said they would send them again ANOTHER 28DAYS! I told them I didn't want to wait again for vouchers as they don't arrive.

The person on the phone could not even say if any vouchers were being sent at all - she said they had a backlog. I asked why they were still taking new customers and still promising vouchers, when they had not sent out vouchers from months and months ago. She did not answer.

She then offered me via another person that they would reduce my direct debit over the next three payments, so I would in all have to wait 8 months to get my £50.00 back.

I declined and asked for immediate £50.00 - they refused. I want to cancel my direct debit, as I have since learnt that they do this constant delaying tactic, until people give up. It has cost me over 2 hours of phones calls to ring them about this and all they say is another 28 Days!

I want to cancel my direct debit as I am now paying them over £80.00 per month, but they still owe me £50.00.

I have found lots and lots of folk online waiting even longer than me and most just forget or give in.

How can a multi million pound organization be allowed to not meet their contract?

No, not a mistake at all I have rung them and rung them and they keep saying it will be another 28 Days! I told them I didn't want to wait again for vouchers as they don't arrive.

So from stubonness you don't have the £50 when you could have? I'd take the money and leave after your contract is up!
  • No, actually I think you are missing the point. Sky has not only promised me that I will get my vouchers 4months ago but twice since. The point I am making is with a little internet research you will see that it is just not just me but, many more people that are told they will get them, but do not.

So if you ordered something from say for example ‘Tesco’ for £100.00, and you only received goods to the value of £50.00, and they said they would send you the outstanding goods in another 28 days; and then you were told a second time and a third time that they would send the goods and they didn't and you had now been waiting for 4 months - would you be happy. Then they say they will reimburse you your £50.00 over the next three months- you of course would be outraged. There is no difference with this situation.

I have looked on the internet, and found there are lots of other people that haven't received their vouchers; I thought this forum was to help everyone. The point I am making is it's not just me.

And the point other posters are making is that for every one who doesn't get these vouchers within a reasonable time there are many more who do.

But that compared to the amount that are getting their vouchers is quite small. The T&Cs say that the voucher will be sent within 30 days of activation. Phone them up speak to a supervisor tell them this then follow it up with a letter.

Thanks cyberbob, but I have phoned them three times already and have I have already asked to speak to a supervisor but after waiting over five minutes was told he/she was busy.
I have made over 2 hours of calls (all the time costing me money ) - I have written, they have just replied repeating we will send you the vouchers in 28 days again!

letter: Recieved today! This is the third time they have said wait another 28 days.

'Thank you for your enquiry about your 50.00 (GBP) M&S vouchers.
I’m very sorry for the poor service you’ve received and apologise for any inconvenience you’ve suffered as a result of this.
Please accept my apologies for the delay in sending your vouchers. I appreciate that this may have caused some disappointment.
I'd like to tell you that I've now requested for your vouchers to be sent out to you. Please allow roughly 28 days for the delivery.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support to Sky.

I hope this information has helped with your enquiry. If you require any further assistance, you can respond to my email. You can also contact our Customer Service team on 08442 41 41 41, where one of our advisors will be happy to help.

So you see they keep saying they will send them in 28 days but they don't.

Well obviously those that do, don't have a problem. I do have a problem though and that is why I came on here.
